The new theme is complete crap. Stop changing the interface and familiar controls. I am shaking from every update notification, from fact that now everything will break again. Or make it possible to turn off updates and not see them at all

Go to https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/photon-colors/ and click on Install Theme.

@Nanette You can type about:config in the address bar. This is a page with a bunch of advanced options. Where can bring back a more user-friendly theme.

The theme is absolutely not contrasting. The font merges with the background, no separators are visible between the elements, although the tabs opposite are separated from the page. And a huge number of other annoying little things. You suggest choosing a different theme, but there are the same problems and an additional annoying background pattern.

Please make it possible to return to the classic theme.

I also advise you to read reviews on news sites dedicated to this update. Many are unhappy with these changes.

That can improve contrast between the one active tab, and the inactive tabs as a whole.

But the issue that Nanette is raising is the lack of contrast between different inactive tabs. I think addressing this is now only technically possible using userChrome.css?

I have to agree with @pg_78. The new theme only made the current tab more obvious. I tend to have many open tabs and switch between them regularly. The issue is lack of contrast between different inactive tabs.

Can you as a moderator escalate this issue to the developers?

I experimented a bit with this. The Firefox Color extension does still allow you to "set" a Tab Background Separator color. However, whatever you set here is ignored in FF89, unless you put code into your userChrome.css to access this value. So users who don't want to write CSS code (something which of course should be 100% optional!) won't be able to bring back the separators between inactive tabs.
