Fire Fox is really slow to start
Hello my number 1 browser community. I have a problem with fire fox starting super slow. I use firefox nightly(i love it!) but i tried all the stuff in the solutions area for fixing slow start up but none of them help. I always use only 2 add ons and they are the same add ons i have been using for years. i have had this problem for like almost 2 years and i dont know what to do. i tried re-installing, refreshing, clearing cache, safe mode but nothing fixes it. The 2 add ons i use is ublock origin and https everywhere, please help me guys cause sometimes it takes up to even 4 mins for firefox to start.

Firstly, to look at your pagefile size/settings click on :
Control Panel System Advanced Performance Advance Change Button on Virtual Memory section
At the bottom of panel there should be a read out of what the size is and what is recommended.
Secondly, take a look at what is pre-running in windows memory.
Basically, there should be 1 anti-virus running and maybe a keyboard or mouse driver.
So press the alt-ctrl+shift key to open task manager.
then look under the Start Up tab to see apps that may be bogging down your system

Double check what is running in memory that may be impeding the browser and perhaps other apps on your computer. You can open up Task Manager and see what all is set to run upon windows starting up.
I had encountered 1 user, some years ago, that had like 2 or 3 anti-virus programs running. But only needed windows a.v.
Also, double check your windows pagefile / virtual memory size. If it is set too low, or maybe turned off, then this would slow down your computer too.
I am following this site but when i click system in the steps it takes me to a different window that does not have advance settings. https://www.tomshardware.com/news/how-to-manage-virtual-memory-pagefile-windows-10,36929.html this seems to be prolly more of a windows/hardware problem... i guess you basically answered my question. anti-malware and windows says there is nothing wrong.

thanks man, checking ram and other stuff. its on auto now. i have lots of disc space so i can prolly make it a bit bigger. just wanna look at stuff before i just change it.
so i changed it and did a reboot and firefox does boot a bit faster now and a few other things are faster like ctrl+alt+delete. thanks ~dbben
i'm glad you found some tweeks that made your system a bit better.
there's probably more that you can do.
but i cannot access your system to flow through the multitude of areas to review and tweek.
in the meantime, make a system "restore point" at this time; since you are experiencing improved performance.
then later in the future, if your system begins experiencing issues that you cant figure out how to resolve, you can execute the system restore point above and restore functionality again.
