That would be a site or malware infection that is doing that. If you are unable to fix this issue this would require a computer shop to look at the problem.

Hi Charley, scanning/cleaning malware and checking for unknown extensions are good idea.

But just to clarify, which of these are affected:

(A) Firefox loads an unwanted page at startup and in new windows (Command+n) -- check your home page setting: How to set the home page

(B) Your default search engine setting has been changed on the Preferences page -- can you change it there permanently or does the change not stick: Change your default search settings in Firefox

(C) Your default search engine is correct on the Preferences page (for example, Bing, DuckDuckGo or Google) but when submitting a search in the address bar, results show up on an unwanted site -- this kind of hijack requires further investigation

Yahoo has taken over my veterans machines, they need Firefox, not Yahoo. It was my job to help them and could not, they took their own lives in frustration. Why could we not get rid of Yahoo that came when they purchased the computer?

Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 are very similar in how Firefox works on them.

In any case of home page or search engine hijacking you need to review/fix settings, remove add-ons, and investigate potential malware.

I did all of that and even got a better power supply. No matter what I do I cannot get to my Firefox display. If I click on the FireFox Icon it goes to Yahoo. if I enter www.firefox.com, it goes to Yahoo.

My real problem is that with everything that has happened 750 of vets dropped the internet and have hired an attorney to sue governmental agencies who are insisting on us using Firefox or duckduckgo.

So I cannot even get to my Firefox home page.

Firefox is a web browser. Accessing www.firefox.com website should redirect to

https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/?redirect_source=firefox-com

It definitely should not redirect to Yahoo.

Yahoo is a website, not a browser. Yahoo pages may appear in Firefox for any number of reasons mentioned previously.
