My computer was working fine. I have toolbars bookmarks to oft used sites that ran along the top portion of my screen. For some reason when i next opened Firefox, the page was only about 4 inches wide and 4 inches high. I could not fully read anything on it but you could see my toolbars were still there. when I go to full screen all my toolbars disappear. I go to the customize option under the three menu lines and it has no effect. Why has this changed and what can I do to restore it.

Screenshot of the error and where did you get the toolbars? Also toolbars are known malware infection route and not advised to use or install them. And if installed removed them for your Browser and O/S security protection.

I got the bookmarks off the internet using Firefox. The toolbars are just the bookmark toolbars. I can't get a screen shot that this will accept.I got the screen shot in word perfect and this takes jpeg.

If I could enlarge the small Firefox without going to full screen. Seems like there used to be three levels of sizes. but when I click on Mozilla the screen I get only covers less than 1/5 of my screen. If I could enlarge that without losing my bookmark toolbars I would be fine. The screen I am in does not even show the time. thanks.

Fullscreen mode is supposed to "hide" the Toolbar area of the browser window, but when the cursor is moved to the top of the screen the Toolbar area appears, until the cursor is moved down to below the Toolbar area. That is a "standard" way that every web browser I have ever used worked.

As far providing a screenshot, see this support article:

How do I create a screenshot of my problem? It is best to use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed a maximum file size of 1 MB.

Then use the Browse .... button below the Post a Reply text box to upload the screenshot.

Both Firefox and Windows 10 can 'take a screenshot', no need to use a word processing application.

Can't you drag the borders of this small window to make this window larger?

Try to rename/remove xulstore.json and if present delete localstore.rdf in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

Thank you! I worked for this for 3 hours last night and tried to drag the borders but did not catch it right with my cursor. I have a question. I got to xulstore.json, but could only rename it. It did not have a rename/remove option. Should I delete it? Or if I rename it, what should I call it? The localstore.rdf was not present. Thank you.

You should be able to remove xulstore.json. If that isn't possible then the file might be read-only or some other software has a lock on the file.

Did you check that no files in the profile folder have a read-only property?

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support to see if that has effect in case security software is causing problems.

Cor-el, thanks for helping. my question is, is removing the same as deleting. Because I can only rename xulstore.json or delete it. sorry to so computer unsavvy.

Yes, removing the file is similar to deleting the file although you can also hide the file from Firefox by renaming the file or by moving the file to another folder. The latter is advised in case of issues with the file that stores important data, but xulstore.json isn't that important that this is necessary. If you know about inspecting files in JSON format then you can open the file in a Firefox tab for inspection and check the keys under the main-window key.
