Please update to a higher version of Mac if your computer can run it, at the very least 10.12. Then update to Firefox 62.

I do have reasons to NOT upgrade. This all worked fine on all browsers then suddenly it stopped. Even on my phone???? I watch videos all the time. Even earth cams by other companies. Only THIS one is having issues.

And again, flash is going away by 2020. What will they do then?

You should upgrade because using old software is bad from many viewpoints, but most of all security-wise.

As for the earthcam, it probably stopped supporting such an old version of Firefox. So you need to update.

As for the flash question, they can use HTML5 to switch away from Flash. But you'll need a new version of firefox

Well it worked up until a few weeks ago. IF a site upgrades and shuts out older browsers, wouldn't it be a good idea to post that somewhere?

As for the whole "security" issue. I am not at all worried. For one thing there is NOTHING on my computer anyone would want or could possibly make money from. Second, I use a wireless router when on line. And my daughter has that set to only recognize specific devices. Besides I'm in very rural Michigan and unless someone is parked in front they would be out of range. So again, "security" is not a concern. At all.

What IS.... is the fact that Apple has fixed it so once I upgrade, many things I use all the time will be useless. I know at some point there will be no choice. Looking at Sierra (not the last one, HIGH sierra does stuff I don't need.) But again, certain file types get F'ed once I upgrade. And thanks to apple there is no going back. Yea... not there yet. And I just might have my daughter come over and install Linux if Apple continues being stupid.

Again, I just got done surfing assorted global webcams and all work just fine. It's only earthcam that seems to be screwed up. I'm not the only person complaining about this either. Go google earthcam and black screen. It's been coming up.

A wireless router does nothing to keep you safe, nor does being in a rural area. Bad actors can use security issues in your browser or OS to attack you and get your bank information, e-mail, social media, etc. from anywhere in the world. They don't have to be in your driveway.

You're making a bad decision by not upgrading and it isn't safe for you or the rest of the web.

As for a site upgrading, there are millions of websites out there, so there isn't a central list to mark which ones work with what browsers. They assume you'll be on the latest browser.

Well one of the games I play on line is moving away from flash and testing HTML5 right now. My version of firefox works. Safari can't read it but firefox can. (Slower than sludge but it works. Note, many people using all forms of browsers are having issues so I'm sure it's a coding problem on their end, which they are working on. still it does function, be it slowly.) So even IF they switched to HTML5, that doesn't address why I'm seeing a black screen.

ya know, for anyone and everyone who puts anything "out there" on the internet, you really need to consider not everyone buys the latest greatest thing the second it's available. OR wants to constantly UPgrade rendering older software useless. It's kinda like a store posting a sign out front "welcome everyone with new shoes on. If your shoes are too old we don't want your business." Stupid huh? Ya think?

Bank info? Well again. That's hosted ON MY BANK'S website. Not my computer. And even if someone managed to install some keystroke hack onto my computer, I use a text file to copy and paste passwords. All they might get is command c command v. And yes, I do know if a hacker really wanted to try, they might be able to actually access my computer, dig through thousands of files, MAYBE find the one I keep passwords on. But NOT my bank's computer. If I see anything unusual all I have to do is call my bank. It's never come up. (Besides there isn't enough IN my bank to really be that worried about. lol.)

So again, what "security" do I have to worry about? Hack away. Get nothing.

Upgrading my OS renders older stuff useless. Stuff I USE would be useless. That means more to me than someone stealing my twitter account info. Who cares?

Phoey. Guess I'm done using earthcam. Summer is about over anyway. Only one I used was to check out the local beach for conditions. I wish the county would put back the older camera system they had before earthcam took over. IT was so much better.
