Hi, it would depend on what your settings are on. You did not mention that you had turned it on full time or not for use across Firefox all the time or not.

HI, if you use Tracking Protection Full Time then the Mask and purple are gone. Please read the 1st URL in my previous message for information like turn on while in Private instead of rebooting..

Previous re: redirect. You failed to follow through with instructions to run the Malware Scanners as that is the solution. Kaspersky is Anti-Virus and does not specialize in ant-malware solutions. Follow through with Malwarebytes or this one ( I bought both to run with Norton) https://www.adlice.com/download/roguekiller/ Might try for after : https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/malwarebytes/ Not allow Third Party Cookies will break some videos and sites. Oh, run RougeKiller with a Right Click as Administrator. If you can search and find this FlashUtil32_30_0_0_113_Plugin.exe up load it to Virustotal.com

Pages are now full of it as malware.

You only see the shield when there is content on the page blocked by Tracking Protection. It is possible that the same page doesn't always have such content and in that case you do not see the shield, so do not get confused.

Note that you can check the Web Console for detail bout what content in blocked by Tracking Protection.

when it disappears , it disappears on sites where ir should stay infact the same sites after rebooting firefox have the shield back again...

ok sorry , and for this problem on this topic any suggestion ? the protection still randomply disappears and i need it for stop some ads , hope is possible to solve it... thanks

I'd suggest refreshing Firefox, and then seeing if that improves things: Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings

Also note, you are using Windows Vista, which is very insecure, and is no longer supported. You should however update to the latest version of Firefox that can run on Vista, which is ESR 52.9. Please download that version from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/#legacy and install it ASAP.

refresh didn't solved it and new version of firefox don't have the shield of the tracking protection and sonce i didn't liked that new version i downgraded , but still need to solve also this tracking prptection disappearing problem on this firefox version , i have no money for a new pc at the moment sadly , i have to keep vista for long time...hope anyone know how solve this , thanks

If you have content blocking extensions then these may override the builtin Tracking Protection. Such extensions do their work before TP gets a chance and thus you won't see the shield when this happens, but instead you need to check what is blocked by these extensions.

i have nothing that block , also no extensions only the built in plugins and flash player , also nothing is changed on my pc from the time the tracking protection staying active all the time during the current session , that's why i don't know why this is happening and how to solve it...too many problems using firefox these last few years sadly...

You need to update to the latest version possible. Please install it asap.

i already tried new firefox , i don't like them and this problem is on that version too ( on new version shield never appear ) also the tracking protection by default should work perfectly on all firefox version , istead of disappear randomply after some time of navigation ... i cannot change pc or os too since i have no money at this time ( also sadly no job... ) i have to keep this setup for a bit but i need the protectiobn to still work or at least a way for block all ads and only them ( don't want other problems related to things that should be allowed and that istead being blocked because of some sort of program installed for block ads but that block other things too ) sorry for bad english and thanks for reply as always

You are using an insecure operating system. You need to use the latest Firefox that will run, 52.

Basically, you need a new computer with Windows 10 and Firefox 61

sorry but as i said i can't and the tracking protection should work on all version , is not a version exclusive feature , so please just help on how keep it active istead of have it randomply disappear , thank you

I don't think any support volunteers are interested in rolling back to Firefox 43 to try to test out why Tracking Protection might have been flaky way back in January 2016. I don't recall users reporting that problem here, so it may not even be possible to replicate it.

Every content blocking feature, whether it's part of Firefox or added on, will sometimes stop pages from working as designed. Add-ons often give you better control, in that instead of a simple on/off switch, you can selectively allow different third party content in a page so you can get some ads/trackers but not others.

Anyway, good luck in your job search so you can eventually get a new computer. Or you could look into Linux as an alternative to Windows.

i tested already new version too on that is badder since on that shield never appeared but also i downgraded because didn't liked that version...it's sad nobody know how solve this...
