You may have corrupt sessionstore file(s). Delete all sessionstore* files and the sessionstore-backups folder.

Type about:support<enter> in the address bar.

Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.

Locate the above file. Then rename or delete it. Restart Firefox.

Just in case the above doesn't solve the problem :

If you're using 'Clear history when Firefox closes', don't clear the Browser History.

See : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/delete-browsing-search-download-history-firefox

If that's not it either, would you please take a look at this article :

Note: V55 has been giving users problems. Reinstall v54.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-older-version-of-firefox?cache=no Be sure to read everything here.

If you still want to downgrade, look under; I still want to downgrade. Click the Directory of other versions and languages link. Look for the directory of the version that you want. But, remember that old versions may have security issues.

Good for you to have figured that out - well done  ! Would you please tell us which add-on that was - it might be helpful to others with the same problem.

Hi Andrew, hopefully you are able to visit the tabs' actual addresses, but if not...

If you didn't delete the sessionstore_backups folder, a file in there may still have the true addresses of your old tabs that wouldn't load. If needed, you can extract the addresses by dropping a file from the folder onto this tool:
