‘tried all the resetting and 'never activate' plugins and other suggestions. made no difference whatsoever. still can't view saved wikipedia articles or other saved webpages since updating firefox in 2016 Dec, reloaded and refreshed fitrefox. But everything is still text based only, no original formating and no images, even old copies of pages that did display now don't display properly? Running vista home professional on a HP Pavilion.

any ideas? Thanks’

Sounds that you have a problem with the CSS files.

Do you still have the additional _files folder that stores images and CSS and JavaScript files?

Are you using the en-UK Firefox version?

Is en-US affected as well?

Hi cor-el

,

Thanks for reply.

I know CSS means cascading style sheet, but thats about the end of my knowledge of such things.

I have NO idea what you mean by:

"Do you still have the additional _files folder that stores images and CSS and JavaScript files?

Are you using the en-UK Firefox version?

Is en-US affected as well?"

How would i find these out and what does it matter?

I downloaded the latest Firefox 50.1. 0 whatever, as prompted on the firefox/mozilla main page. I am in UK, Sheffield as it happens.

if its any use i have trawled though my 'saved/downloaded files' and find that the problem really kicked of exactly around the winter solstice, although i had a few problems with pages in wikipedia that didn't display images a bit before that.

Sorry i can't be more specific at this time.

Regards

Spyke

If you save a web page as "Web Page, Complete" then you get a main HTML file and a folder that stores all other files. If that folder is missing then you do not get images and styling done via .css files.

I wonder if it's somehow related to the problem in this thread: Webpages will not save correctly, HTML pairing is broken with firefox 50.

Tried all the suggestions and i do save a web page as "Web Page, Complete". Always have, but the problem still persists. didn't have the problem until i updated firefox to 50,1,0

Ddidn't understand most of your 'suggestions' and observations. Sorry, i'm not that up to speed on these issues, if i was i wouldn't have the problem, or i could give you more information. Really annoyed that something has cocked up my ability to save and view files when all i did was follow a recommendation to 'upgrade' something that seemed to be working ok anyway.
