I have not been able to navigate to or even open my Hotmail account using Firefox. This just started last night Feb. 10/2016. Nothing happens. Interesting that the date is tomorrow morning 2/12/2016 4:17:45 AM. I am writing this message on 2/11/2016 at 11:22 EST.

Here's the message that comes up:

Servers use UTC time (GMT) where your PC converts UTC to youir local time, as do most web-mail apps.

Sounds like a "site issue".

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu, choose History, and then "Clear Recent History...".
  2. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
  3. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
  4. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
  5. Now click the "Clear Now" button.

Further information can be found in the Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox article.

Also, as you know, Microsoft has changed the mailbox URLs for Hotmail users a few times over the years. If you are accessing your mail using an old bookmark or home page setting, does it make any difference if you start on the login page:

Now, another strange thing occurred. I decided to system restore to earlier point (just yesterday before the latest updates from Windows.) When it was completed and I was unable to use the Firefox icon. It said the shortcut was no longer valid. Very odd. So, fortunately I have Chrome and IE, so I uninstalled then downloaded Firefox and installed it. Now, I am able to access Hotmail through Firefox.

As a point of security, I always have automatic history clear whenever I close a site that requires a login. Also, after 30 minutes or so, the cache seems to clear itself. I am unable to go to address bar and find prior sites visited, which is fine, in fact I prefer it.

Anyhow, thanks for teh answers. Obviously, something wasn't working but the uninstall and reinstall seemed to fix it (at least for now.)
