New search box is nigh on useless if you have lots of versions of the same search engine

I have several DDG and Google search engines in all my browsers. They are for different countries/languages as a search in German on Google.de produces a different set of results to the same search in German on Google.se. With the old search box I could give the title "Google DE" to one search engine and "Google SE" to another. It was easy to identify which one was which by reading the text in the drop down list despite each version of Google search having the same icon.

The new search box presents me with six identical Google icons and six identical DDG icons. There are no text titles displayed so I need to then hover over each one in turn to see the title of the search engine and then select the relevant one.

Can anyone in the Mozilla search box development team see why I would view this as a retrograde development?
