I have recently begun getting pop-up messages in the lower right of my screen stating: "Current operation did not succeed..." It has happened when opening my mailboxes, my delete and my junk email. And sometimes concurrently all of my aliases and their folders will disappear leaving only my primary address. It will all mysteriously reappear but I don't know if it's something I have done to try to get it back or if it is just random.

Things were going fine for awhile. It seemed to have nothing to do with anything I did. Last night Thunderbird started demanding my password again and has rejected it. I didn't realize there was a syncing process. Now I can't get my mail on my iPad either. Tried to get a reset but can't get mail on either device. I have Thunderbird 38.3.0. Tried to start the syncing process. Password denied but when I asked for a reset I'm told the account already exists. Can't get email. Can't reset. Account exists but doesn't work. Very frustrated.

Outlook. I have been using it for less than a year since my old provider stopped doing email. I have had no complaints up to now. I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and I think that is about when this started occurring though not immediately after. I have a lot of folders and I just today started to try archiving what I want to keep. Maybe there is too much in them. This is the full message (slightly edited): Thunderbird The current operation on 'Junk' did not succeed. The mail server for account ....@outlook.com responded: Select Command is not permitted in current state. (NotAuthenticatedServerError)

My Thunderbird is going from bad to worse. It has started asking for my password but doesn't remember it even with the box checked. I'm getting more pop-up boxes. I am 73 and so frustrated. Today I got: Server ....@outlook.com has disconnected. The server may have gone down or there may be a network problem. I have had my PC into the Windows Store 2x in the past few months. The 1st time they said there was some deep malware found. The second time I couldn't download Windows 10 so I took it in and they did it for me. Not sure if there was a virus found. My son rebuilt it when the motherboard died and that seems to be when I started having other problems, though not right away. I'm wondering is I just need to buy a new PC. I don't want to. And if I save those things I want will whatever the problem is go or stay?

Thanks for replying. I'll keep searching. Have you any ideas re: the Thunderbird issue if it is Tbird?

Thanks again. The problem isn't solved but It's good to know it's not something I did. I won't give up on Thunderbird just yet and will inquire about the issue with Windows.

Things started working fine seemingly independently of anything I did. Then last night Thunderbird began asking for my password again and rejected it. I went to Mozilla webmail and tried signing in. Again rejected. Told I would be sent a reset code but I can't get it because I can't receive email.

I'm told it is still an outlook problem. Contact them.
