How can I prevent Firefox from loading an Options page?

Starting within the past 2-3 days, whenever I start Firefox as my default browser, with Google as my default search engine, which I've been doing for as long as I can remember, a second page loads. It's called "Options," and this is the URL:

about:preferences#general

It may be useful, but I don't want to see it every time I start Firefox. I tried the solution suggested by other users within "about:config" but that didn't work.

Thanks for your assistance. This isn't life-changing, but it is annoying.

Bookmark and use this; Download the Mozilla Search Reset {web link} This add-on is very simple: on installation, it backs up and then resets your search preferences and home page to their default values, and then uninstalls itself. This affects the search bar, URL bar searches, and the home page.

What did you try in about:config?

Could you check your home page address to make sure it isn't listed there? It would be after a vertical divider, for example:

https://www.mozilla.org/|about:preferences

I think you are familiar with exactly where to check, but just in case: Startup, home page, tabs, and download settings.

Was it there? (Fingers crossed, because other possibilities seem very unlikely.)
