After Update Image Links Don't Work in Wikipedia

This started after the update to 38.0.5 which I just loaded. I am running Win 7 x64.

Wikipedia loads fine and the text links to other articles works fine. However the links to images and other things thumbnailed do not work. When I move the mouse over the thumbnail, the cursor turns into a hand indicating a link. The URL of the link appears at the bottom of the screen, but clicking the link does absolutely nothing (no error message, no activity, it's like clicking something that isn't a link). If I right click on the link and select Copy Link Location, then enter that in the URL at the top of the screen (or in another browser window), the image from Wikimedia commons comes up fine though not with the black background like they have been for several Firefox versions, more like it used to taking me to a new webpage with the full sized image.

Selecting View Image from the right click menu displays the thumbnail on a black background.

This works in other browsers and it worked with the last version of Firefox I was running (I forget the version, but it was a recent one). Nothing else has changed on this machine since some time before the upgrade (weeks at least). I checked several different Wikipedia articles with the same results. Clicking on images that lead to another Wikipedia article does work, it seems to be limited to links that lead to a larger image.

Looking at the URL, the image URLs lead to something that starts with this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:

and then the name of the image file is after the File:

The File: in the middle of the URL is a bit unusual, but I would think Firefox can handle it. Seamonkey handles Wikipedia articles with no problems and it is built on an older version of the Firefox engine.

Hopefully something in the settings changed with the latest version that broke something here and I can change the setting back.
