From Dan Witte in Bug 631612
Over in bug 625496 and but 625497, we're implementing Clear Recent History/Forget about this site for plugins. This, for example, will allow users to clear Flash LSOs and site preferences when they choose "cookies" in the CRH dialog.
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Clear%20Recent%20History
Adobe would like us to update the messaging on our KB article to reflect that. Our implementation will clear plugin data when "Cookies" is checked in the dialog. I would propose changing the "Cookies" section to read:
"Cookies store information about websites you visit, such as site preferences or login status. This includes information and site preferences stored by plugins such as Adobe Flash. Cookies can also be used by third parties to track you across sites."
(The 'tracking' part is ancillary, but I think we should include that while we're here.)
This will be implemented in Firefox 4.
Hi Verdi, the anchor left in the source doesn't seem to work:
[ [Clear Recent History#What things are included in my history?|What things are included in my history?] ]
I would have fixed it by myself but I stumbled in a possible bug - probably the question mark "?" is not correctly parsed and makes the anchor not working.
In the meantime I filled another bug since it is almost impossible to test anchors in the preview

I though the #w_ prefix workaround should not be used according to bug 616418 comment 2.
Hi underpass,
You edited the article on Feb 9 2011 (/kb/Clear%20Recent%20History/revision/9719) but reading your above comment, it looks like you changed your mind so I rejected the pending edit.
P.S. Comparing your revision 9719 with the current article version in the History, I couldn't see the difference, anyway (not sure what was happening there).

Hi Alice,
It's all right... I tried to edit the article then I posted here. Thank you :)
rampuse added a reference to pop-up blocker exceptions for site preferences. It needs review.
I added and approved a new fx4 screencast and incorporated the reference to pop-up blocker exceptions.
We should update this article to include the information about clearing Flash cookies (earlier comment). That works with Flash 10.3 which should be final any day now (it's RC at the moment).
FYI http://news.cnet.com/8301-10805_3-20059653-75.html?part=rss&subj=news&tag=2547-1_3-0-20&tag=nl.e703
I created a revision that removed fx3 content, fixed a broken list, fixed an anchor link and added info about clearing cookies set by plugins.
The pending revision updates the "What things are included in my history?" section to add, under Cookies:
This includes information and site preferences stored by plugins such as Adobe Flash.
Should the information about Flash cookies be {for not fx35} (if we're still using that) or {for fx4}? Otherwise, the article could lead Firefox 3.5 and 3.6 users to the false conclusion that clearing cookies will also remove Flash cookies, but this isn't implemented until Firefox 4, which was mentioned earlier (bug 625496).
From revision 13993:
This includes information and site preferences stored by plugins such as Adobe Flash.
Flash 10.3 and higher, Firefox 4 and higher.
Your choices are described in the What things are included in my history? section above.
It does not work. See bug 616418
^ Judging by the table of contents in the approved article, the internal link should be #w_what-things-are-included-in-my-history (without the question mark)
Ok, I removed that "?" from the link and made the piece about flash cookies {for fx4}.

It doesn't work. Use the proposed link from Alice.
Cookies can also be used by third parties to track you across sites
It is not specific to Firefox 4.
Thanks scoobie - I fixed the link for real this time and I made the cookie info more specific. I'll make a similar change to to the Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history article too.
That is still inaccurate. For Firefox 4, to clear the Flash cookies, you must use Flash 10.3 or higher.
From what I've seen, the option to clear the Flash cookies is available in Windows but not in Linux. Don't know about Mac OS X.
