I am not sure if this is a new issue, I have certainly noticed it previously, but think the behaviour within forums changed at some stage.
The <nowiki> markup may be used to suppress explicit internal links within sumo posts such as
- /questions/924242#answer-323113
- may be shown as text [/questions/924242#answer-323113]
- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/924242#answer-323113
- but this does not seem to work with a full explicit link[https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/924242#answer-32311]
- and does not work with implicit links google.com
My attention was drawn to this again recently by trying to write mail.ru without it being shown as link
