Norton 360 for Windows includes a firewall component that controls which programs can connect to the outside world and what types of connections they can make.

Norton 360 can sometimes erase Firefox's browsing history and bookmarks. It also includes an "Eavesdropping Protection" feature, which can mis-identify Firefox and prevent it from working properly. This article describes how to configure Norton 360 to allow Firefox to work normally.

Problems with bookmarks, toolbar buttons, and history

You may have a problem with a component of Norton 360 if you are experiencing certain symptoms after upgrading to or installing Firefox 3, including:

  • Bookmarks disappearing
  • Bookmarks not saving
  • History not working
  • Toolbar buttons not working

To solve this issue, see Bookmarks and toolbar buttons not working after upgrading.
