About two months ago, after various Windows and Firefox updates, I can no longer make Firefox the default browser. In Windows Default Apps the only option for FF is to make it the default program for Adobe Acrobat Document. Choosing Make FF Default through the browser does not work either. Additionally, I’ tried numerous suggestions, using AI help offered by both FF and Chrome, without success.

The OS is not allowing me to make Firefox the default browser. Is there any way around this?

Any suggestions?

I'd like to try out the built-in VPN, but can't find it. I've seen many older posts about this, but nothing recent. It's now August of 2026.

I'm using Firefox 154.0.1 on Android 16. I'm in the United States.

I'm logged into my browser with my Firefox account. I know it's working as I can open browser tabs between my mobile device and other devices using my account.

I'm not seeing the built-in VPN feature.

"VPN" does not appear in Settings as described in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/mobile-android-vpn

By comparison, attached is a screenshot of what I have in Settings > Privacy and Security.

Any guidance?

I tested the security of my VPN and found firefox browser was allowing the WebRTC for video/audio which it is built into the browser is reporting my IP address. All I need to do is open about:config then go to media.peerconnection.enabled and change it from true to FALSE

Now after about:config is typed in the address bar the page stops loading or to say the page will not load. I am doing this on Android Firefoxs home page, beside all the different browsers you can choose. What's up with all that stuff, Please help me plug this leak! Helped me open the config program. I have Firefox 15.3.0.1 on two computers. One one, when I go to about:config, there is a search bar with an option to "Show only modified preferences." On the other computer this search bar is missing. How can I make it display on the second computer?

The website mozilla.github.io/policy-templates makes mention of the FTPProxy option that can be set for Firefox. However the admx file under github.com/mozilla/policy-templates/blob/master/windows/firefox.admx makes no mention of that setting. Is the documentation in the admx file incomplete or am I missing something?

Sirs. We cannot download the ¨Clear Browsing Data by Armin Sebastian.¨ It is a Firefox Recommended Add-On. We are getting error messages. One common one is... ¨...Firefox cannot modify the needed file.¨ I am also unable to download the Official ProtonVPN extension as well, with the Error being...¨Firefox prevented this site from asking you to download software on this computer.¨

After the last two updates, the **Pseudo-elements** tab in the Browser Console can no longer be closed once it has been opened, and vice versa.

Hey guys, am I the only one having trouble finding the right timezone in the widget? I cannot set Indian Time Zone (IST, GMT +5:30, New Delhi, whatever) nor easily find Canadian timezones (i.e., Ottawa).

I know I can put GMT+4 and call it a day but A) I don't want to deal with summertime daylight saving times and B) Funny enough, if I select the GMT+4, clock goes to GMT-4 (and this happens for every other timezone).

In Firefox on my Android phone, when I type about:config in the address bar and press Go, it takes me to a description of that functionality, not the configuration page. I have tried DuckDuckGo, Chrome, and Bing, and they all do the same thing. How can I go to the about:config page?

My Firefox version is 152.0.5 (Build #2016171143). My phone is a Galaxy A32 5G, model SM-A326U, Android version 13, One UI version is 5.1.

I was wondering the reason for the change in version 154 about changing the minimize to tray behaiviour when pressing the minimize button to minimizing when pressing the close button. Is there a standard? Why not make it a 2 way option, for users that prefer the older function?

I'm using Firefox for Android version 152.0.1 (Build #2016167575) on a Galaxy S24 Plus phone running Android 16.

Firefox is set as the default browser. It always opens whenever a task requires a browser. But when I try to open an HTML file by tapping or long pressing it, the dialog window that opens doesn't show Firefox as an option. Screenshot_#1_20260624.jpg

I have checked the settings in "Apps that can open links", all apps there show "In other app" In "Default apps", Firefox is under "Browser app". Screenshot_#2_20260624.jpg

6/21/26 This morning I could not open my FireFox browser, unless i created a Profile. I was forced to use the Profiles Wizard to create a Profiles; when i finished all my Bookmarks had disappeared. Which was a great shock, had lots of Bookmarks in Bookmarks Toolbar, Bookmarks Menu, & Other Bookmarks, I need to get those Bookmarks back !! >>More info: I had Hibernated my Dell 15 laptop overnight. This morning when I turned on the laptop, I got the above message that I had to create a Profile, which I did, which made all my bookmarks to DISAPPEAR !! I need them back!

Why is there no FIFA world cup widget in my Firefox for Android, version 152.0.1? I have looked through all the settings, but there is nothing. When I use the search feature in settings, there is a search result when searching for "world cup" which redirects me to the "Homepage settings", but there is nothing.

Hi. Recently, not sure of which version as there seems to be a lot of updates :)

I'm currently on 152.0.1 on a Windows 11.

This problem doesn't happen on my Raspberry pi with 152.0 (aarch64) On my Android 13 I have allowed Pop-ups, via about:config, sort of, but there is no option to make Exceptions

So back to Windows 11.

As said I can enter an exception and that works when I load the site I want until I close Fx and I have to do it all again: Enter Domain : Allow : Save etc.

Once, and only once, I closed the [settings] and I'm sure after closing FX and opening it worked fine.

Just closed again and problem has occurred.

The issue arises on my site https://calstock.org.uk which opens a window to a UK weather site, The Met Office. It requires cookies etc. and shows it's own popup.

What I do is open it first in a new window, which is the popup I am referring to, then I load it in an iframe, then I close the popup.

That way the cookie is set by the new window that pops up so there is no query on my main page.

I only have the one extension, uBlock Origin which I have on all devices
