I will stop using Firefox.

It is the end for me with Firefox, reason Sync and Bookmarks.

No matter what I do, every time I delete a bookmark, it instantly pops up back, duplicate bookmarks everywhere, delete them and they magically pop up again.

I researched the internet for months with no solution, I tried every solution that showed up in search results, nothing resolved the issue.

I even disabled sync, and yet the deleted bookmarks pop up again, I deleted ALL my bookmarks and like magic they are back.

So, after so many years I decided to find another browser that will not give me that much headache...

Hi 👋. I just had the oddest thing happens in that I recieved a message from the firefox browser that I was unable to save a bookmark. ...I assume some limit was reached? I've been save most sites bookmarks regularly and have around 10,000. Yeah I know .. and it's mostly deduplicated. Never thought never would be a limit? This is on my android s24u. I have not reached the limit on pc yet. The second question is, does windows 10 latest firefox have a bookmark limit? And if so, is it limited per user account of firefox ? I wouldn't imagine but if anyone can enlighten me with details please.

And leads to my 3rd question. How EXACTLY does the syncing work? Like which device is king? Or how does your cloud sync decidewhich device gets what? And when ? My thoughts are your cloud sync is like a centrel gathering point for the information then based one which device synced whatever, the cloud sends the difference so to speack in my senerio, 3 devices. , I need as much detail as possible because I feel like I'm not synced between accounts half the time . I use 3 devices desktop laptop and s24u. Same account for allb3 and all 3 are different and sometimes I change some setting or remove something like an extention and step away from phone a few hours and extention is back things changed on the browser are not changed anymore ..? Wth so this is why the need for details on the sync setup. So frustrating. Sorting and removing passwords has been a nightmare lol get right of a bunch and need a password so go looking and bam! Those deleted passwords are back wth lol . Kinda funny but maddening in the moment. Thanks in advance ☺️ and sorry for the terrible job I did trying to write this out quickly lol. 👋

I am tired of clicking and scrolling and clicking and scrolling to find something I use constantly. It's fine to bury "settings" in a menu because I only use it once or twice. But things that we constantly use daily should be prominently displayed front and center. When I make a user interface I always make the daily use items as easy as possible. Rare use items can be hidden away in a submenu because it will only rarely irritate users, and in fact, if it can be destructive, it should be buried deep in the menu tree so you don't click it by accident.

Hi I use several different Linux distros in all my machines. I am trying to merge my bookmarks for each OS in a computer into a file which I then will restore to all OSes.

I am hoping to edit that file myself, as I may at a later stage try to merge all bookmarks from all OSes in all machines.

So I am thinking of looking into key3.db files and see if I can come up with something, but I can't find the file in Artix. I have not tried other OSes yet.

I am running Firefox Browser 136.0; Mozilla Firefox for Artix Linux; artixlinux - 1.0

I opened the Bookmark Manager because I wanted to change some tags. After I made the changes, and deleted the websites from the old tags, I wasn't able to delete them. In r/mozilla it was suggested that I Verify Integrity. Is there something I'm supposed to do after I run that? I was still unable to delete tags. Just in case it might be helpful, this is the report from Verify Integrity:

Hi, all,

I've searched but haven't found an answer that leaves me comfortable with how to address my question(s). Hoping someone here can help. While trying to update Firefox FROM version 115.0.3 TO version 115.12.0esr I ran into some problems that prevented me from using/adding bookmarks. While I believe I've solved the problems, I found the following info worth questioning.

By selecting Firefox's "Application Menu->Help->More Troubleshooting Information->Profile Folder->Open Folder" I find that I have:

  • 10,000 AlternativeServices files as text documents
  • 312 'serviceworker' files as text documents, and
  • 3,134 'SiteSecurityState' files as text documents.

I'm wondering if I need them? Doubt that I do, but 'fresh eyes' seldom hurt. Can I delete them all without harm or data loss?

This is on a Gateway P-7811FX laptop, (yes, a bit old, but it was a workhorse in its day and still works well), with IntelCore2 Duo CPU @ 2.26 GHz 2.27GHz running Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit) with 8 GB of memory

Hoping someone here can provide help or insight that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time and consideration. Denis
