private browsing gets stuck

When in private mode (Firefox/New Private Window), and I type in for example www.google.co.zm, Firefox does not resolve. There is no search happening and the cursor remains on the address bar. Yet in normal mode, it works. Why would that be ?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.
