Ver 7 won't load pages after a few minutes or with multiple copies of FF open on 2 PC's and went back to ver 6 and no problems

With one copy of FF open pages load fast at first and then slow down to about a minute using FF 7 or 8 but with multiple copies of FF running pages just say "connecting" but never do. Happens on multiple PC's running Win 7, 32 and 64 bit. I switched back to ver 6 and all is well so it's not DSL/router/PC/etc.
