The volume slider in all videos is set to mute. Dragging it the slider only works while the drag is in motion.

MacOS 10.6.8, currently fully patched. Firefox 6.0.2, currently reporting it is up to date.

All YouTube videos embedded in other web sites have this problem: The sound appears as muted. The sound icon in the toolbar at the bottom of the video shows itself as muted (with the little X). I can drag the slider, but as soon as the drag is over or stops moving the slider snaps back to the mute position. While the drag is happening I do get sound appropriately loud for the instantaneous position of the slider. For videos in the YouTube web pages themselves this does not happen and the video does not start muted at all. DISCOVERY: When I go to YouTube proper and then flip back to an "offending" web page the problem has gone! Bizarre. The URL below is the first site I found the problem at.
