Stuck in sync/sign in loop

I installed the latest version of Firefox (100.1) on my iPhone 8 (15.5). I have a Firefox account that I'm successfully logged into on my laptop. However the iPhone app refuses to remain logged in. I have restarted the phone, uninstalled and reinstalled the Firefox app on my phone, and nothing works. When I go into the app > menu > sync now OR app > menu > settings > account login I go through the QR sync process. Once that completes, I open the list of connected devices on my laptop and my phone is not listed. When I open the app menu on my phone, I am not logged in. I still see the "sync now" and no account logged in in the settings menu. When I try to sync from my phone using my email address, the login screen does not recognize my email address as valid (it says "load failed"). It's the same email address I'm using to log into my laptop and this support site. I was able to sync across devices just fine until today. How can I fix this? Thanks.
