Before you respond with your list of troubleshooting for this issue, I have tried them ALL! There is so much on your website and the internet about this issue, the fixes are well known and well tried. Everytime I try to watch a live youtube streaming, plugin crashes and Firefox freezes and I need to restart my pc! I would thing the brilliant folks at Firefox would hve come up with a REAL fix for this by now. Apparently not.

so, I have disabled Shockwave, but it seems none of the other plugins suggested for this will work. The error message is always, "your browser does not recognize any of the video formats available", then suggests HTML5 . I tried all of those, and they won't work. Last time I sent you a question about this, I think it got deleted (on purpose?) because I couldn't find it. Please don't do so again. Or I will have to take further action.

I'll do just that,   right after I've asked you if maybe you have the VLC Media Player plugin installed   ?

I looked at your profile. Lots of mail questions. Nothing about freezing or shockwave. Are you sure that you used this username to post the question?

Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open the Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control>(Mac=<Command>) <Shift> A)

On the left side of the page, select Plugins. Make sure the ones you want to use are set to Ask or Allow.

Go to the web page. Once the page is loading, mouse to the address bar and Left click the icon. Select Permissions. In the menu, Make sure the ones you want to use are set to Ask or Allow.

Type about:preferences#advanced<Enter> in the address bar.

Under Advanced, Select General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.

Restart Firefox. Are there any problems?

Didn't I tell you I tried all the 'fixes'??? Those 2 are some of the earliest/easiest. I told you I have tried everything in any posts, and mozilla's troubleshooting of this issue. And none of it helps. so, again, please do NOT send the same old, same old

Youtube has been using the HTML5 player for a good while now as it only uses the Flash Player as a fallback option for systems that does not support HTML5.

See https://www.youtube.com/html5/ as you should have all blue check marks.

If you have Windows 10 N or KN then you may not have the Media Feature Pack installed. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-video-audio-problems-firefox-windows

Flash is called Flash Player as Shockwave Flash is a legacy name still used is some places like in the Plugins panel. Normally when people refer to Shockwave it is about the different Shockwave (for director) Player plugin which is not used much now days and is not needed for Flash Player to work.

Besides Youtube some other sites are using HTML5 player now like Twitch and Facebook and BBC.

You can see your previous threads and posts search links in your Sumo account page. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/user/kaylaartist

My youtube video will not play with any other flash player except the one CALLED shockwave flash, so apparently some websites still use it. When it isn't installed I receive a message to install it. And as Isaid, I get an error message that my browser will not play the html 5 player. If you have a solution to this, I'd like to hear it

As to the HTML5 player, they are not ALL checked. The 4 that are, I havae already tried before. (Hence my telling you I have done everything already) The only thing I did not try is the media pack, which I just went to do.....Here's the error message: Windows Update Standalone Installer The update is not applicable to your computer

I have win 10-64

Any more ideas?

Sorry to be such a snot, but I find it irritating to be told to do stuff by tech that I've already told you I've tried

Read my first reply. I said the legacy name for Flash Player Plugin is Shockwave Flash. https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ http://www.adobe.com/ca/products/flashplayer.html

Shockwave (for director) Player is a different Plugin. http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/otherversions/ http://www.adobe.com/products/shockwaveplayer.html

I also posted how to check to see what you support for HTML5 player and how to get the needed codecs if you have Windows 10 N or KN version.

This issue is NOT SOLVED and I do not know why you posted it as such. You have been absolutely NO help, and Firefox continues to crash my pc and web pages don't show properly, etc. Firefox is the best browser to use when it works, but it has been going down hill and I am not the only user to think so. A quick google search should show you MANY of us have these issues and it would behoove Mozilla to fix it!!! Good by

We don't have that ability. Please remove that flag. If you don’t, others that can help may not read this post.

Go to that message, and use the Undo link to its right.

Some of your crash reports weren’t sent to the Mozilla Servers.
