I was at a website and suddenly a box popped up saying where did I want to download this file to, and a second page with that web adress opened up. I assume it is some site trying to slip me a trojan or spyware of some kind. What gets me is they are using the Firefox logo on that webpage, which I am sort of sure Firefox has nothing to do with it.

Hi, you are right to be suspicious! NEVER click on anything like that.

If you wish, you can report the use of Firefox's logo at Protect the Fox (and More!).

Yeah, I just posted it to the site you suggested, scribe.

Mozilla does not do patch .exe updates since Firefox is also for Mac OSX and Linux and also does not host updates on random sites outside of *.mozilla.org links.

Nothing is stopping people from making up a page and putting a Firefox logo on it and claim a fake .exe patch is legit.
