Never had a problem with firefox in my history of using the browser. Only reporting this because problem makes working in the browser impossible. Last attempt before moving all of my bookmarks to a new chrome home. It really seems like the only problemless browser around anymore.

This is a bug that we are actively investigating. Can you try disabling Hardware acceleration and see if that helps? Turning off hardware acceleration
It doesn't help. I turned it off a long time ago because I would visit sites the the scrolling would freeze beyond what would be considered a normal freeze. I thought the problems was related to the shockwave plugin. The sites were: http://www.contractortalk.com/f12/how-obtain-replacement-window-leads-120536/ http://surewindows.com/co/double-hung-window-denver Do you get the same scrolling issue, and is it related to the google maps bug? This by the way only started to happen after the latest updated. I refreshed firefox several times but cannot get the performance back to the way it was before. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
As soon as you visit the first site, and the ads start to load on the side, firefox becomes overworked, and freezes. Opening other tabs freeze also, and the only options are to wait or quite firefox. The only thing I haven't tried yet is a fresh reinstall, and Im trying to avoid that because I have a lot of stuff to move that will take time.
Doesn't work, I've tried several options in preferences. Nothing is working.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

You can check for problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions and try this:
- make sure you have the latest Flash version:
http://www.adobe.com/special/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html - check for updates for your graphics drive drivers
https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration - disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
- disable hardware acceleration in Firefox
