I have an existing account (email name) that is being moved to a different server.

The new server uses a different security setting and also needs a different user name in the account settings field.

However, I can't change more than one of these things at a time because with each value added to a field, thunderbird insists on a restart, so I can never enter a consistent set. Each time, Thunderbird detects that the settings don't work and resets everything.

I tried making another account, but after working for a while that seems to have evaporated on me.

In the meantime, I'm not able to get to my mail.

IONOS canceled me, and my T-bird disappeared. I lost 25 years of work and personal files saved in folders. I've gotten my inbox and address book back, but not my saved files. I NEED THEM! It took 3+ days, but Carbonite recovered those files (I think, I hope) but we don't know how to get them back into T-bird.

Just then, Hurricane Helene hit us. I've just gotten my power and internet back. I need to get back to work, but I've got to have my T-bird files.

Mentre operavo da mail di alicemail da casa, mi è uscito a video un messaggio tipo (vuoi associare la mail a thunderbird o qualcosa di simile), c'erano due opzioni SI o NO. Forse erroneamente ho risposto SI e non so come, dal quel giorno non riesco ad accedere più alla mia mail di alice nemmeno a leggere la posta, quando provo a entrare con le mie credenziali, rilasciando il seguente messaggio di errore "accesso al server non riuscito. Prova più tardi". Sto cercando di spiegare cosa mi è successo a parole mie, non sono un tecnico e non informatico, scusate se mi sono dilungato ma per me è un problema serio e sto cercando in qualche modo di risolvere. Grazie anticipatamente a coloro che leggono e se possono darmi dei consigli utili. Grazie

Hey folks, I have a serious issue with thunderbird and my Posteo account. Neither the calendar (CalDav) nor the address book (CardDav) can be connected to the latest thunderbird version. I always get on of the following errors: "No calendar found under this address. Check Settings" or "Connection failed". Interestingly, the chosen settings work perfectly fine on my smartphone (using Davx5). Any suggestions?

Why can I not add my startmail account to Thunderbird? I do the Re-test and the settings are found but still unable to log in at server. I've verified all setting that I use with Outlook and everything matches.

I recently had to reinstall windows, consequently reinstall Thunderbird. During installation I set up the account as I did years ago but it does not show my 23 folders. It shows only inbox & trash. So, I imported my account from a backup and it has all my folders. The problem is that both accounts have the same name, email address, & password. I would like to delete the account that has NO folders and use only the one with my 23 folders. Both accounts currently show all incoming emails. Will deleting the one account by any chance delete the other one since they are identical in name, email address, & password? Thanks.

I am maxing out my Comcast email space allowance (10 gb) and want to move it all to my PC. (i don’t want an encrypted backup, but something readable.) I thought I could use Thunderbird and set up a POP3 account on Thunderbird with the option to leave emails on the server. It downloaded only the Inbox, not the subfolders. I read on the Forum that that is what happens with POP3. My understanding of IMAP is that I don’t get the actual email on Thunderbird, because it stays on the Comcast server.

Is there a way to download all those emails and folders to Thundebird (to keep) and then delete them from Comcast? I don’t plan to use the Thunderbird client for my day-to-day email, simply to store the last 10 years of email.

I have tried to research the forum articles so that I don’t bother anyone needlessly, but can’t find an answer. Thank you.

One thing I noted in the report is the cost of Donation Processing Fees. I'm Canadian and always use Paypal for my donations, but wonder if it would be of more benefit to you if I used an alternative.

Is there another service or credit card that would be a lower cost to you?

Try to Export on my Mac my 4 email account profiles to a .zip files. One of them is 38GB, so this won't work.

Try copying the the folders to a USB Drive and then moving them over to the user/<name>/.thunderbird folder.

Why can't I just drop them in there and then start thunderbird and it loads everything and doesn't ask me to provide a password for my email accounts? I mean wouldn't that be ideal?

What's the correct procedure?

Considering so many companies have adopted Microsoft Exchange/Outlook365 and their IT departments have locked out other communication protocols, are there any plans to address this in Thunderbird? Right now a lot of us can't use it because of this limitation. The only solutions so far appear to be Owl (for purchase) or DavMail (which requires a separate OpenJDK 8 installation). This is a fundamental need in Thunderbird rather than a third party add-on. I like the look of Thunderbird but, alas, am not able to use it.

My pop account has been accidentally deleted, and I would like to restore my emails associated with my professional address . Could you please help me recover them?

Unable to sign into outlook.com using either normal password or OAuth2. This has been going on for weeks, but would eventually connect. Now it was been two days since last connection. Any help would be appreciated.

The import options list includes "from Outlook" and "from a file", with a note that this includes address books and calendars. So is it correct that importing "from Outlook" is importing from a .pst file that was exported from Outlook? If so, would this option be better described as "Import from Outlook .pst File" or perhaps "data file"?

I have a Thunderbird email account. I need to speak to customer service team to understand about my account. There is no phone number to call. Can someone please help.
