I have had to unistal firefox & reinstal it going on 5 times now. It'll work for about a week & then I have to do it again. What is going on with your browser? I don't have any problems with google & not with IE, so I know it's not my computer. Some of my friend's have had the same problem & have switched over to google because of it. I like your browser but I shouldn't have to unistal & reinstal every week. I am on windows xp. What it does is: it won't let me connect to the internet. I click it & the hour glass comes up like it's trying but it doesn't so then I go to go google or IE & then I can connect to the internet through one of those browsers. That's the problem I keep having.

Does uninstalling and reinstalling actually help? (Are you keeping or trashing your personal settings?)
You might already have seen the help article on this, but in case you haven't: Firefox can't load websites but other browsers can.
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.
To Reset Firefox do the following:
- Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
- Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
- Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
- Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?
Did you try a clean reinstall and made sure to delete the Firefox program folder?
- (32 bit Windows) C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\
- (64 bit Windows) C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
- Firefox 18.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
- It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.
If you keep having problems then also create a new profile.
Yes - I uninstalled firefox first. Those tips I got to click on - well it won't even let me open it up to get into firefox. Only thing I can do is uninstall it & then go through another browser to the website & download a new one. It works for a week or so & then it happens again.
