For some reason,I am seeing multiple copies of bookmarks for the same site, and lately they seem to multiply like rabbits. Is there a way to select all the duplicates, and erase in one go? Thanks!

CheckPlaces includes a feature to delete duplicate bookmarks, but I think it would be better to figure out what caused those duplicates first.

I see that you have Xmarks 4.0.5 installed, but it is disabled.
Any chance those duplicates happened when Xmarks was enabled?
Are you using Firefox Sync?

Thanks for the link.I have had a major problem in the last two days with Firefox hanging,so bad in fact, that it would hang within a minute or less from launch, but after disabling a bunch if addons,it seems to be much better. It is possible Xmarks is the culprit,as I re-enabled it after not using it for some time. No,I don't use Firefox Sync,I'm happy with Xmarks. The duplicate bookmarks problem is a fairly recent occurrence. BTW,I just ran Checkplaces, and it did an awesome job!
