On Startup I go into Work Offline when I don't want to

My Mac has, since last month, been going into Work Offline when I start up. This only began when I was away and using WiFi in France; my iPod Touch was fine in France but it always took several attempts to get online on the Mac. Now I am back home with my own WiFi it is still going straight into Work Offline.
