How do I download google earth? It keeps going to chrome. At Firefox it goes to "themes."

I don't know the difference between themes, extensions, and plug-ins/ I would prefer not to use google chrome if possible. Help in the form of Step 1 then Step 2, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
