Mozilla's "Full Screen" (F11) mode has white borders on the sides and bottom- how to permanently remove?

I have shortcuts to certain websites on my desktop that link directly to sites I frequent. I.e. I have an icon for HBO Go, and it opens up Mozilla Firefox on HBO Go, full screen.

I'm trying to set it that as soon as I click these links, Mozilla launches fully maximized and in full screen mode.

I love full screen mode because it's perfect for using my computer as a media device.

However, there seems to be a white border around the left, right, and bottom of the screen. It's really irritating and ruins the aesthetic of what I'm trying to create.

It's on any website, doesn't matter. Here's an example when I go to Hulu (http://i.imgur.com/wPC3FcB.png).

Here's when I go to Youtube TV (http://i.imgur.com/qPBrPzH.png). As you can see, a very annoying white border around 3 sides.

If I click "Restore" in the upper right- then click "Maximize"- then click "Full Screen" (or press F11), then it goes to Full Screen properly, without the white border. See here (http://i.imgur.com/NBqA9Rs.png).

Is there a way to fix this? I really do not want to use another browser.
