how to move bookmarks column to the far left?

From the keyboard hit { Ctrl + B }. Is that what you are looking for?

You can find "View Bookmarks Sidebar" in the "3-bar" Firefox menu button drop-down list and alternatively use the "View > Sidebar" menu.

  • Tap the Alt key or press F10 to show the Menu Bar

There is also a Sidebars button in the Customize palette to drag on a toolbar.

  • "3-bar" Firefox menu button > Customize
  • View > Toolbars > Customize
