I already tried putting Thunderbird as a shortcut into the C:\Users\<myAccountName>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo (aka. shell:SendTo) folder. But when I use the "Sent to" menu and select Thunderbird, the file to be attached just gets openned by Windows as if I had double-clicked on it. Thunderbird does not even open a new message.

I also tried changing the call of the Thunderbird shortcut in the SendTo folder to: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe" -compose attachment= At least, then Thunderbird opens a new message. But it just writes the path\filename of the file to attach into the attachment section. When I then try to send the message, Thunderbird says it cannot access it under this path.

How are you doing this? Thanks!

I use Thunderbird Mail, I have two email accounts, a gmail and an icloud. Now a problem has occurred, all subfolders for icloud have disappeared from Thunderbird. I had different folders of saved correspondence, but now I just see Inbox, Archive and thrash. Anyone know what I can do to get those folders back, for gmail account everything is ok

I tried to get a copy from timemachine (backup) and it complained that the profile is from a newer version. TB is full of bugs and horrible UI "features" that suck - simple things like changing column width for example.

bold text Previously I put the mouse on bottom of very long list and pushed them up until I had a workable IN BOX list. They were not lost they kept the displayed list the same as I deleted emails after reading.

I am testing sending emails to a mailing list sending them all as BCC.

All of the emails when received show "Undisclosed Recipient" as the Sender instead of Displaying my name as the sender.

Another thread said this might be a Google thing. I am sending the emails from a work email not Google though I do not know if Google is the underlying sender for my work domain.

Any ideas of how to fix this?

I want my recipients to know the email is coming from me so they don't think it is spam.

For years I have had my Outlook account connected to Thunderbird. A few weeks ago I stopped getting my emails for the account with Thunderbird message saying it could not connect to the Outlook server. Nothing had changed and my sign in and password were correct. I decided to delete the Outlook email from TB and try to re-install it. Now I keep getting the error message that I have attached. I have no idea how to proceed.

After my Thunderbird were upated to 128.3.0ESR (64 Bit), some received email have became some messy code. but some email are ok. but in my another computer whose Thunerbird is the old version, that email is ok.

I have received several emails on my laptop Tunderbird account with content like this:

I can read these emails using BlueMail on my phone. Can you assist in resolving this issue please? Thank you

Why is changing column width so complicated and buggy under 128.3. Nebula on Mac?

simply want to enlarge From column - before Nebula - just do it. Now, pain in the back - only lets you do a bit and moves everything else and still doesn't let me do what I used to do. What a mess they made out of a great program !

Starting on 10/01/2024 Thunderbird no longer allows me to send or receive email.

When I try to read messages using Thunderbird, I get the following: Sending of password for user XX@msn.com did not succeed. Mail server outlook.office365.com responded: Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.

When I try to send messages using Thunderbird, I get the following: Enter your password for XX on smtp.office365.com:

I have tried redoing the password and it does not help.

This is on a WIN/10 system. I updated to the latest version of Thunderbird and it did not help.

I checked out Thunderbird on my WIN/XP and get the same results as with WIN/10.

When I use Firefox and login to https://outlook.live.com/mail/0/, I can send and receive email as before. The same is also true with my Mobile Phone.

thunderbird did a upgrade again... now my 4 email account works great. but now my IMAP account will not let me send emails. i can receive them great... what gives? why does this happen? how can I fix this?

I have two iCloud mails in Thunderbird. The older one runs great. For the other new one - same settings - mails sent often appear totally blank in the sent folder. Going to the iCloud webmail, sent messages appear totally normal and mails are sent to destination without any problem. I tried everything, no avail. Also weird is I have two "sent" folders (for no clear reason). Both have this issue, not always. See screenshot of iCloud webmail.

I am getting these messages when trying to reply: mail.iinet.net.au587 and Sending of message failed. Peer's Certificate has expired. The configuration related to must be corrected. I would like to know what to do to correct this.

Searching calendar events in Thunderbird used to search both title and description fields. For example, if I searched for "dental" it would find events titled "Dental appointment" and also events with "dental" somewhere in the description field. Now it only seems to search the title. I've always put most of the information in the description field, and I use the calendar primarily as a diary record of my life and things I need to keep track of, so this is a major downgrade in terms of usability for me. Is there any way to still search the description field?

Why can't I retrieve a website that I am directed to in a Thunderbird email? Usually the website is in "blue" and can be retrieved by a simple click, these are just in black.
