When trying to upgrade to FF6 it crashes, and I have to delete and reinstall 5.1? what is happening?

FF crashes when I try to upgrade to FF6 and a dialogue box appears stating that a crash has occurred and please send report. When I do, I reboot only to have the same box appear. I then de-install the FF6 and reinstall 5.1 and all works again.
