Why do you have to keep "improving" Firefox until it is worse.
I just want to e-mail a link to a page to my wife. I don't want to "share" it with everyone I have ever met. I don't do Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or any other social networking site. I admit I am a grouchy old geezer, but there are a lot of us around. We do not appreciate these constant updates that are seldom an improvement. I did not want to create an account, but that is the only way I could ask this question.

I can't tell if you are having trouble using a built-in Firefox feature, or if some unwanted sharing icons have appeared on your Firefox.
Built-in Email Link Feature
You can access this function in two places:
- Classic File menu: if you do not normally display the old menu bar, tap the Alt key to display it temporarily
- Button you can add to the toolbar or the "new" menu: Use the Customize feature, and look for the envelope icon with "Email Link" under it. This article has the steps: Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars.
Before the first time you use this, you may need to set up your specific mail site to get it on the list that Firefox presents. By default, Firefox will find stand-alone mail programs on your computer and is wired for Gmail. If you need assistance setting up a different service, let us know which one it is.
Also, see this article for general reference: Change the program used to open email links.
Invasion of Sharing Buttons
If you have this problem, it could be an unwanted add-on. However, please describe where they appear, for example, home page take-over, on the toolbar, etc.
