A web page opened from FireFox's first tab, consuming some time because it is in process after a click event in that page. Opening another tab with the same URL, it references back to 1st tab. No new tab is opened. But this is not the case with IE. Please check

That would depend on the links on the page. Some pages have links that refer to different areas on the same page. If you want to force a link to open in a new tab, you can middle-click it.
