How do I download to a specific lower-level folder?

I have changed the setting in "Preferences" so that I am now prompted to save files rather than having them automatically saved to the Download folder. However, I still can't "drill down" and choose the exact folder where I want to save something. For example, rather than saving a file to my top-level Dropbox folder I'd like to save it to a subfolder for a specific project. Is there any way to do this?
