Why are App Tabs included in the Home Page list when I select Use Current Pages?

If I have a site on and App Tab (eg Gmail) and a number of other tabs open and then set my Home Page Tabs by selecting Use Current Pages, the App Tab sites are included at the start of the list of tabs.

This means that when I later reopen Firefox the App Tab sites are opened in App Tabs and also repeated in normal tabs. I realise that I can delete the App Tab URLs from the list before saving, but surely the Use Current Pages option should only save the normal tabs as App Tabs are saved automatically.
