A recent article in Time Magazine indicated that both Google Chrome and Firefox allow you to request that companies not mine your data. Apparently this is something beyond the browser's "privacy options". Could you tell me how to do this?

A recent article in Time Magazine indicated that both Google Chrome and Firefox allow you to request that companies not mine your data. Apparently this is something beyond the browser's "privacy options". Could you tell me how to do this?

  1. Open the Firefox preferences window and go to the advanced panel
  2. On the advanced panel go to the general tab, then select the setting "Tell web sites I do not want to be tracked"
