Started when Scottrade brokerage offered new version of their streaming quotes. Had been using an older version of Firefox. When I opened the website for Scottrader, the site offered me to open via the old version of Streaming Quotes or the New version of Streaming Quotes. I couldn't access the new version, so clicked on the old version of Streaming Quotes and the Streaming Quotes opened as usual. Later last week, contacted tech support for Scottrade , was told that I should update my Firefox version-- for they could see that when I was logged on, I had an older version. I downloaded the most current Firefox 3.6.12 version into my Applications folder. Next considered upgrading java. Went to www.java.com and clicked on download and prompt appeared showing that Apple had its own version of java for Mac, so I assumed that I was set? Told tech and can't remember now but he either gave me a specific website to go to to update Firefox- I believe or for Java and my computer updated to the latest version. The next day I could bring up the old version of Streaming Quotes but again, not the new version with Firefox and that was alright but wanted to be able to use the new version of Streaming Quotes using my Firefox 3.6.12. Don't know if I took something to the trash or if my having downloaded the new version of Firefox which put the new version in my Applications folder, and the blue icon of the new Firefox on my desktop. Wondering if the problem might be caused by having the older Firefox version orange icon in my dock and the newer blue version on my desktop? Now when I open Firefox by clicking on the older orange icon of Firefox, it takes quite a bit longer to load. I assumed that it was just because the newer version was a larger folder? Now I also am wondering if I properly upgraded my java? Went into java preferences and started to look around, changed a setting in advanced, tried to load the new version of Scottrade's Streaming Quotes and it didn't work, went back into Java preferences- Advanced and put the setting back to where it was previously-user prompt. Now, don't know if I can't load the new Streaming Quotes from Scottrade due to a Firefox issue or a Java issue? Now, I can't even open the old version of Streaming Quotes and have had to go and use Safari to open old version.

One last thing. When I log into my account on the web and pull up my account, then click on Streaming Quotes trying to use the new version of Streaming Quotes-- I can see on the top left corner the words Streaming Quotes showing up, then quickly disappearing along with Scottrader.jpln being loaded in my downloads and showing up in the top left corner and then quickly disappearing, as if the computer can't grab onto it and utilize it?
