popup download warning
Hello, popup download warning.
Been getting this pop-up to download an update for Firefox from site: sodawebrega dot org
Thought I should report it. My first post so I hope I did it properly.

Thanks, marty2010. There is a spate of these fake sites with fake updates which unfortunately can be very damaging to your system.
If you check your history, can you tell what site you were on just before the page appeared?
The prevailing theory is that an ad network is spreading "malvertisements" so one possible workaround is to use an ad blocker like Adblock Plus or uBlock Origin.
Finally, if you do accidentally download either firefox_patch.js or firefox_patch.exe, don't click them on the downloads list because that will run them. You can right-click > Open Containing Folder and that should display the file highlighted so you can press the Delete key to remove it from your system.

Oh, forgot to mention, Firefox's malware filter is having a hard time keeping up with the growing list of new sites. You can report your experience on the following page to help grow the list:

I did not download it. The first time I seen it I turned UAC on highest level. Then I got the popup again .. Did not download.
Then I posted here.
I will read (print) your instructions and follow / do them now...
