The ask toolbar has been added to my firefox. Probably along with some other software that I wanted to install. How can I get rid of it? It does not appear as an installed program in Control panel. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium
I had to download Java yesterday, and the nasty Ask Toolbar (I don't like ASK) came along with it. I can not figure out how to get rid of it. I even tried uninstalling and re-installing Firefox, but event that did not work. Thanks!
Have Ask Toolbar on my computer when I install FF- 11. I have windows 7, 64bit version. Any suggestions how to remove it? And, Why does FF load it browsers with malware and such? If, I can not remove it. I will remove FF, period and use something else.
I have used Firefox for a few years and am happy with it. Downloaded Firefox 6 to a new computer, and with it came the ASK toolbar. I don't want that, and have tried everything I can find to get rid of it, but you have planted it too deep. How do I get rid of ASK and keep the Firefox I know. As the web is full of similar questions, why do you piggyback this irritating thing onto a perfectly good program. thank you
I just dowloaded Firefox 4 and I have an ASK toolbar. I don't want ASK searches. How can I remove the ASK toolbar from Firefox 4? I actually prefer the interface from Firefox 3 much better. The icons in the new version seem meaningless. Change for the sake of change doesn't impress me very much. If I don't know what an icon represents, wouldn't a text word be better?
The Ask Toolbar has installed itself, it is not listed in the plug ins or extentions. It is not shown on the "Add or remove programs". Please can someone tell me how to remove it? It is not as easy as everyone says... I can't get rid of it.
I can't open any blank tabs, but I can right click and open a link in a new tab. I haven't changed anything, and I don't have the Ask toolbar at all, which is the only answer I could find on the forums, so it doesn't help in my case.
Sorry, but I am new to this forumn and don't know how to post a comment that may save time for some folks. About a week ago I posted a problem concerning creating multpple tabs and saving them. I cna't find that posting again, but the answer I got worked until the next update. At that time I was using FF3.6.14 and the Ask toolbar. Removing it as suggested worked. Later I installed the FF 3.6.15 update and all still worked. Last night I recieved an update of the Ask toolbar. Upon installing that latest toolbar, I again had the same problem with tabs. It would appear that the lastest version of FF and Ask still conflict.
