I am a loyal firefox user and have used it for years. Security and features are great. I use Google docs constantly throughout the workday on my Mac and I am constantly having problems with Firefox. Google docs that I work in are constantly re-loading, incompletely downloading, going offline. I typically have 5-10 docs across the platform open at a time, and the problems are preventing me from working effectively. I have tried searching help forums and done the fixes suggested (repeatedly clearing cookies and cache, turning off protections, etc). Nothing works. Any ideas before I switch the Chrome (yuck)?

Depuis le 4 août à 14h30, Google Meet ne parvient plus à accéder à la caméra de mon ordinateur portable lorsque j’utilise Firefox ou Chrome. Un message me demande d’autoriser l’accès à la caméra dans Windows, mais les autorisations sont bien activées.

Il est important de préciser que Google Meet fonctionne parfaitement avec Microsoft Edge, avec la même caméra et sur le même ordinateur et que Teams fonctionne avec Firefox.

Par ailleurs, jusqu’au 4 août à 9h30, Google Meet fonctionnait normalement avec Firefox et avait bien accès à ma caméra.

Il semble donc qu’une mise à jour effectuée entre ces deux horaires, soit de Google Meet, soit de Windows 11 (version 25H2), ait pu modifier ou bloquer l’accès à la caméra pour Firefox et Chrome.

Actuellement, je suis donc obligé d’utiliser Teams pour faire mes réunions.

Pourriez-vous m’indiquer comment résoudre ce problème et, si possible, vérifier s’il s’agit d’un problème connu lié à une récente mise à jour ?

I have reproduced a persistent Firefox/Linux emoji rendering issue in ChatGPT and found a small CSS workaround that fixes it.

Environment

Linux Firefox 155.0.1 The problem also reproduces in a completely fresh Firefox profile Noto Color Emoji is installed

Symptoms

In normal ChatGPT conversation text, some common emoji such as:

😄 😂 😀 😁 🙂 😊 🤣 ✅

render as monochrome or outline glyphs.

Other emoji such as:

🚀 🔥 ❤

may render correctly in the same message.

A particularly useful clue is that the same affected emoji render correctly inside ChatGPT code/copy boxes, while failing in ordinary response body text.

Firefox DevTools Fonts inspection showed ordinary fallback fonts including DejaVu Sans, FreeSans and Nimbus Sans being used alongside Noto Color Emoji.

Updating Firefox from 155.0 to 155.0.1 did not fix it, and neither did creating a completely fresh Firefox profile.

Diagnostic test

Running this in Firefox DevTools Console on chatgpt.com immediately fixes the affected emoji throughout the page:

Permanent workaround

Using the Stylus extension, scoped only to chatgpt.com:

html {

   font-variant-emoji: emoji !important;

}

This survives a complete Firefox restart.

This appears to be a font/emoji-presentation interaction where some emoji-capable Unicode characters are being satisfied by ordinary monochrome text fonts before the colour emoji font is selected.

Mozilla Bug 1971053 describes closely related glyph-selection behaviour and mentions font-variant-emoji: emoji as a remedy: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1971053

I am posting this both in case it helps other Linux/Firefox users and to ask whether this remaining behaviour on Firefox 155.0.1 is expected or should be tracked as a current Firefox/web-compatibility issue.

Sites struggle to load a lot of the time now, sites like youtube don't load until I clear my browsing history and cookies, some sites don't load at all, some shops don't load any image previews. I've tried on other browsers when these things happen and they don't happen there.

For some reason, my Gmail page doesn't show the icons on top at all. Like the archive, mark as read, and the others on top of the mailbox contents. They show up on both Chrome and Edge, so this seems to be a Firefox problem.

Computer being used with issue: HP ProDesk 600 G2 DM (Windows 10, 16GB RAM) So can this be fixed or should I just use my phone for Gmail?

suddenly have to pass a bot test using drum sounds or weird images before I can get to my email. I've been using Firefox to access email at att.yahoo.com for many months with no problem. Now I cannot get in. My idea of snare drums is obviously not the right answer. the weird images are worse. I've cleared the browsing history and cache per the instructions and it didn't help. ATT said it was because updates were done--or not done--to Firefox that caused the problem. When I pull up settings, it says Firefox is updated automatically and I'm up to date.

 so do I just give up and go back to Edge?

Log in pages won’t load on https://activelife.gladstonego.cloud/ (Gladstone go) using Firefox 154.0 (75837).

It previously affected M&S too but this seems to have been resolved.

This device is essentially a thumb drive made by MOPAR that contains automotive serve diagrams for a Jeep Wrangler. When you boot this device with Firefox being the primary browser you get garbage instead of schematic drawings. If I make Edge the primary browser the card boots properly and runs. This a legally obtained card with no password system on board.

For the past few weeks, I have been having problems playing certain Facebook videos. It seems to only happen when I try to play a video that was recorded live. I have tried clearing the cache, I've tried a private window, and I've tried safe mode. I still can't get the video to play. However, when I copy and paste the url to Safari, it works fine. I have been able to play "live" videos while they are actually "live"; it's just that they will not load when I try to play them later. I don't have any problems playing videos which have been uploaded to Facebook; only those which were recorded live. The videos just show a circle in the middle as if they are trying to load but nothing else happens. The length of the video does not matter; it happens with short videos as well as long ones. The screenshot image (of a random "live" video I found) I am uploading shows a partial black circle in the center, which is a spinning circle in realtime. I have circled it in red.

when i use Chrome or edge to access yahoo email I can write & edit. when using Firefox browser; I cannot write & edit/highlight/change text colours etc before sending. tried deleteing & re-installing Firefox . please help. Driving me crazy rsvp

Bonjour, firefox fonctionne mal avec certains sites et notamment sur le site caradisiac.com très souvent la barre des menus de ce site ne fonctionne pas alors que si j'utilise safari ça fonctionne normalement. je précise que j'utilise un Mac mini M1 à jour et firefox à jour avec l'extension ublock origine même en désactivant ublock cela ne fonctionne pas que se passe-t-il ?
