A friendly hello to whomever is kind enough to read this! Your help is greatly appreciated!

The latest update caused an edit I made to my Profile's userChrome.css file to be nullified. Now there's huge bar where the tabs toolbar used to be, and apparently it's not the title bar, as when I activate the title bar in "Customize Toolbar," this huge gets replaced by the actual toolbar.

I've attached my css code below for inspection. It used to work perfectly, but after the last update (133.0) it's no longer working. What can I do to fix this and have it like I had it prior to the latest update (133.0)?

userChrome.css File: `#main-window[tabsintitlebar="true"]:not([extradragspace="true"]) #TabsToolbar > .toolbar-items {

 opacity: 0;
 pointer-events: none;

}

  1. main-window:not([tabsintitlebar="true"]) #TabsToolbar {
   visibility: collapse !important;

}

  1. main-window[tabsintitlebar="true"]:not([extradragspace="true"]) #TabsToolbar .titlebar-spacer {
       border-inline-end: none;

}

/* Adding empty space for buttons */

  1. nav-bar {

margin-right:140px; }

/* 15px for dragging whole window by mouse*/

  1. titlebar {

appearance: none !important; height: 15px; }

/* Fix for main menu calling by Alt button */

  1. titlebar > #toolbar-menubar {

margin-top: 10px; }

/* Move minimize/restore/close buttons to empty space */

  1. TabsToolbar > .titlebar-buttonbox-container {

display: block; position: absolute; top: 17px; right: 1px; }

  1. sidebar-box {
 min-width: 250px !important;

}`

Bulk migration of thousands of mails from Thunderbird POP to IMAP (GMAIL) and Server Time Outs

Hey folks, I recently started the process of migrating my accounts from POP to IMAP. I have several accounts set up on Thunderbird which have been getting mail via POP for years. The idea is to migrate all these accounts to IMAP and I've started the process on one of the smaller accounts, but have already ran into issues with server time outs due to the quantity of mails I'm trying to copy over.

I set up both the POP and IMAP account for the same address on Thunderbird and manually set up the folders (or labels on GMAIL) on the IMAP account to replicate the set up of the pop account. Setting the folder structure manually is not a problem, the problem I've run into however, is that when copying any large amount of mails from the POP account to the IMAP account, it just doesn't seem reliable.

The progress displays in the status bar, but on transferring a folder with about 2,000 emails, it seemed to time out and not transfer everything over. I then had to go through a long process of comparing emails in each folder to know what was left to transfer.

I'm yet to transfer much larger accounts, some with tens of thousands of emails and I need to be sure everything gets transferred properly.

Can anyone suggest a tool or add on or method that even if the server times out, that it can just continue where it left off and I can be sure that all the mails will transfer eventually? I understand the upload process can be slow and I don't mind having to wait or doing it overnight, just as long as it's done right and I'm not left having to compare thousands of accounts, folders and mails.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm running for quite a time Thunderbird on Windows up to Win11 without any problem. For about 3 years I'm using the same TB profile in dual boot environment with Linux Mint (v21 until last week and now version 22). I understood why I didn't get access from Linux side after the latest TB update in Windows as obviously the file structure and other things had changed to make it incompatible to elder versions.

However, as Linux is now my normal working environment, I've tried it again after upgraded my system to Linux Mint 22 Cinnamon 6.2.9 , kernel 6.8.0-44-generic and failed again, having the same error message when starting the profile: "Thunderbird is already running, but not responding. To use Thunderbird, you must first close the existing process, restart your device, ore use a different profile. "sudo killall Thunderbird" didn't find a running process.

I've tried importing everything in a new profile, which worked (more or less), but failed with all attempts getting access to my local profile. A local profile appears after importing but contains no data, trying to import its data separately doesn't trigger any error message when just ticking "E-Mail", but nothing is imported. When ticking "E-Mail" and "Settings", I'm getting a red alert that asks me to look into the error console which doesn't help either.

What can I do ????

Nowhere AT ALL does it warn you that it will WIPE your current installation and RESET everything. I had no ideas and had not saved up the content of my OneTab extension in a while, FUCKING THANK YOU FOR THAT.

That's it. Fuck you.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I need your help.

My Thunderbird shortcut no longer opens. The shortcut C:/Online/Thunderbird is empty. The folder no longer exists and my Thunderbird can no longer be found after an update on November 1.

I can still find Thunderbird version 128.4.0 260MB from 1.11.24 and my old profile from 7.11. under Windows Programe.

What can I do to get my Thunderbird back? Reinstall Thunderbird and integrate the profile?

I haven't actively deleted the program and can't remember updating it.

I was just able to save the profile to a USB stick.

Many thanks in advance for your efforts

Currently on 131.0.3. Started having this issue around the time 131 dropped.

I press Ctrl-shift-O and bookmarks manager won't open. Bookmarks manager opens normally if I use the menu to open it. Keybind won't work in troubleshooting mode so I know it's not an addon, and the hotkey works fine on other computers with Sync enabled so I know it doesn't have to do with my synchronized settings. Also won't open with a fresh profile so I am very hesitant to reset all my settings.

I use this keybind multiple times per browsing session so it has had a major impact on my usage. Not sure what to do. Please help!

I'm going to try a graphics driver update in the hope that helps. This is on Windows btw.

I have long had an ESR version (140.1.1) on my Win11, for which I had selected all the defaults from the installer around a year ago.

I followed [instructions] to migrate to the Release version (141.0).

I imported the same profile as that exported by the ESR version.

ISSUE: Now I have 2 separate installations of Thunderbird as shown in Windows "Apps" panel, the old and the new one. Both are 64 bit. Each holds its' own versions of my folders and synchronizes separately.

QUESTION: What's the best way to resolve this? I only want the Release version, but fear a process (that I imagine on my own) which will damage one or both. Such is my luck with these matters.

Thanks in advance, AL

I'm migrating Thunderbird from my old Windows 10 computer to a new Windows 11 computer.

I've installed Thunderbird v115.12.2 and successfully moved all my accounts, emails, calendars, etc., to the new computer.

Several things are NOT working correctly, though:

1 - Settings will not open. Here is the message from the error console:

Error: No such tab mode: preferencesTab

   openTab chrome://messenger/content/tabmail.js:758
   openTab chrome://communicator/content/utilityOverlay.js:257
   openPreferencesTab chrome://communicator/content/utilityOverlay.js:295

   openPreferencesTab chrome://communicator/content/utilityOverlay.js:295
   openOptionsDialog chrome://messenger/content/mailCore.js:628
   oncommand chrome://messenger/content/messenger.xhtml:1

2 - Customize menu does not open

3 - The hamburger menu in the upper right corner does not open

4 - The spaces toolbar on the far left is missing

5 - Events and Tasks are missing from the menu

6 - My calendar is nowhere to be found - I can't find a way to access it (on my old computer, I clicked on the calendar icon in the spaces toolbar on the left side of the window)

Thunderbird on my old computer was also running v115.12.2 when I backed up the profile folder to move it.

I tried downgrading to Thunderbird v102. I had all of the same issues listed above PLUS all my accounts and emails disappeared. -- I've brought it back up to v115.12.2.

Could someone please help me get Thunderbird working correctly?

Firefox was once the most popular browser in the world, but then Mozilla started releasing updates every week and became disgusting. Now Mozilla has a tiny piece of the market, they have essentially lost almost everything, but they continue to shit with updates like diarrhea, which most users do not need and it's impossible to refuse the annoying, ugly constant reminder about updates. I'm not even talking about the fact that after a refusal to update to a new version, there is a forced update to a new version without permission. So, why doesn't this company learn from its mistakes and become at least a little smarter?

I am told that when FireFox closes it is supposed to delete a file called parent.lock in FireFox's Profile Folder. The parent.lock file does not delete when I close FireFox and consequentially it will not allow me to open a new instance of FireFox. If what I say is in fact true, what can I do to fix it? If what I say isn't the case, what can I do to make FireFox open a new instance of FireFox once I close it.

I sure hope I have explained this so it can be understood. When I close FF and then try to open it again, I get a dialog box saying FF is already open and has to close first. Not sure if those are the exact words but I was told that the parent.lock was to be deleted and that isn't happening. What can I do? Thanks.

Been using TB for about 10 years. My last upgrade was to ver 52.9.0. in 2018. Since, I have clicked the upgrade button a few times. I do not know what ver I was running before my accidental upgrade to 115.16.2 a couple days ago. This ver is terrible. I want to go back to my previous ver, but not sure what it was.

So a month ago I did a win 10 backup to my external drive. Not sure how to just restore TB on win 10 backup. Also, I weekly copy my profile to a thumb drive.

1. Where is that ver number located in the copied profile so I know what ver I was running? And if I find it can I just uninstall TB and all files/profile and reinstall that version; then import my copied profile without losing 10 years of mail?
