I have limited data wifi. I have unusually large data use and can't pinpoint the cause. I note that I keep seeing on the bottom line of firefox something like: "loading 500 of 5678 emails." However, I don't, of course have that many emails saved. Could this be a cause of excess the data useage?

I have asked why the time for my receivements of mails is wrong, and someone told me that is because I have not set the clock in Thunderbird correct. But I cannot find where to do that???

Like one of your previous questioners, I have an unfixable security certificate within Eudora (ver 7.1) and I want to migrate its address book, settings and mailboxes to Thunderbird. During installation, migration from Eudora is offered but greyed out. What can I do about that apart from trying the previous questioner's solution of using an old version of Thunderbird? My OS is Windows 8.1

Emails sent to us show on the phone, but not on the Thunderbird Email browser. Also when trying to move an email from one folder to another they do not arrive, but go into thin air. When searching for these emails by for example display all emails from xyz sender, they show op, but when trying to open the email is vanishes again. This affects both the main email used for Thunderbird as well as forwarded ones.

I have gone to properties, repair folder, but that has not solved the isse.

Several times a week I receive an email from someone I do not know with a title like "confirmation of your payment" and an attachment with details. I do not open the attachment but when I try to delete this email it stays in my infolder. I can delete all other emails OK.

I tried the fixes here related to deleting trash folders.

After some experiments I found if I archive this email then I can successfully delete the archive folder including the email.

Is there a less clumsy solution to this problem?

I don't know how to fix this. I have important emails so I can't just uninstall and re install without losing them, but I can't receive any messages

For some reason I am not receiving new emails unless I close Thunderbird and reopen it again. I have it set to check for new emails every 5 minutes. It is an IMAP account. I have checked it against the emails coming in on my phone. I will receive them on my phone, in Thunderbird they are not there. I click on Get Messages and still nothing. I close Thunderbird and reopen and then they are there.

Maybe I'm not searching for the right settings or addon but I'd like to open my own urls in a tab in Mozilla. I see that you can do it with an addon for gmail but I'd like to add a few of my own.

Can this be done with vanilla Thunderbird or do I need an addon? If an addon, can you point me to the right one? I am using 38.7.0.

I have Thunderbird on several boxes. On my Win 8.1 box, about half the time, TB hangs when I try to delete or move a message to another mailbox. This never happens on my Win 7 boxes. The IMAP server belongs to me and has only my private traffic. So my request to move to "trash' or another folder does not have to contend with any other client. Thunderbird shows a "not responding" message and greys out if I try to do anything else. This happens about half the time and is becoming a real problem for me.

Somehow I have created duplicate FOLDERS in my two T'bird accounts. (See image.) I also have some system folders that aren't in use.

I'd like to clean up the organization by DELETING ANY and ALL folders I don't use, but there is no "delete" choice when I right-drop on the folder.

How is a folder deletion done under these circumstances?

All of a sudden i have three new folders in Firefox. Trashbox, Sendbox, and Draftbox along with my original Trash, Sent, and Draft folders. I do not want two of each. How do i get rid of them? Deleting Trashbox is only temporary as it comes back.

Occasionally, when i open my Thunderbird, i get this suspicious window, asking me: 'Please enter the master password for the Electronic ID (PIN1).' I once entered my email account password and it got abused, i was sending out spam.

My antivirus and MBAM can't find anything. What do you guys think?

I can't figure out why this is happening. When I delete from any file other than trash I can usually find the lost email in the trash, but they are sometimes hard to find.

I just recently started using Thunderbird at the recommendation of another user. I have it both at work and home. My emails and folders sync between both home and office, but my calendar does not.......why?
