I'm new to Mac OS, have been a long time Windows-7 user, and long ago was a UNIX user at my then employer. But it's past time to say goodby to Redmond.

I want to transfer my Firefox Thunderbird email history as well as my address book etc. from the Windows 7 installation of Firefox Thunderbird, (which says it's "68.8.0 (32-bit)", it was updated today, May 10) over to the new (to me) MacBook-Pro Firefox Thunderbird (version latest as of May 9, so far haven't figured out how to cause the Mac Thunderbird to show it's version info)

While the instructions for copying the profile info on the Windows machine and transferring to another Windows machine are clear, and the instructions for copying an existing Mac profile and transferring to a new Mac are clear, I am unable to find any information on how to move the Windows files to the Mac installation.

I tried copying everything in the Windows "Thunderbird" directory to a flash drive, then tried replacing the Thunderbird files on the Mac with the copied files but that didn't work.

What is the procedure I should be following? For the moment I'll be keeping the Win-7 machine "alive" but would really like to abandon it soon.

I installed the latest version 81.0.2 - I WISHED I haden't When sending Emails I get-: 'Thunderbird can't connect securely to website.mozilla.org because the site uses a security protocol that isn't enabled'

Now then, I use exactly the same set up on two other computers but with a older Firefox but all with exactly the same Email versions of an ealier Thunderbird.

Question 1. How the blazes can I stop this error?

Question 2. Why is it that I have to answer Cookie permissions before going to a web site.

Question 3. How the hell do can you turn Google search suggestions off - YES, I have search suggestions disabled! The only sure way is to block them with ADblock - WHY can't it be done in Firefox, paying a sum are they?

The toolbar's "Email a link to this page" button no longer works as before. It now asks me to set up a Newsgroup account. Is there a way to get it back to simply displaying a Thunderbird "Write" page with the link as the body, as it always has?

Configuring Filelink To use Filelink, you must first create a new account (or configure an existing account) with an online storage service provider.

   At the top of the Thunderbird window, click the Tools menu and select Options, or click the menu button fx57menu and choose Options.
   Select the Attachments panel and choose the Outgoing tab. 

Sounds easy, but my 'Options' menu has no 'Attachments' panel to select, thus no 'Outgoing' tab to select.

Hi: For the past 1 week I'm trying to DOWNGRADE my Thunderbird Ver 78 to previous Ver 68, and have reviewed probably most of ALL the 'hundreds' articles involving this issue but it CLEARLY LOOKS that a large amount of users, including myself, have founded this process extremely confusing: I was able to download & install my previous 68-version of Thunderbird BUT I'm missing all bookmarks + messages + and General 68-Ver Settings (!), and I still do NOT entirely understand & know how to properly/correctly restore my original Thunderbird Ver 68 settings ...

The ENORMOUS ABUNDANCE of articles are greatly written BUT unfortunately very confusing for users who are NOT as 'deeply-knowledgeable' with Thunderbird as the experienced MOZILLA-experts so - could anyone from the great MOZILLA-experts put together and send us the 'step-by-step' instructions ONLY specifically related to 'Recover user data missing after Thunderbird update'. I strongly suggest NOT to just sending several links because this approach is not an effective HELP, and it mostly just results in further confusion of users. I have Firefox version 80.0 installed and Thunderbird version 68 email app to view my email. All was working fine.---I click on Moz T-Bird logo on my Dell Windows 7 desktop computer and a screen appears showing all mail and folders, but now I cannot receive nor send any email. If I click on INBOX, I get a blue revolving circle that continues indefinitely without a message. If I click on SEND message, I receive a message which states: Peer using unsupported version of security protocol. The configuration related to mail.brainstorminternet.net must be corrected. I can log in to my ISP provider website which provides a web-based email interface and then log-in to view my mail. I called the company and checked to see if the IMAP was correct. It was. Hopefully you can offer some suggestions as to resolving this problem.

I've downloaded and installed version 78.4.3 of Thunderbird onto my new (to me!) laptop, and having configured it apparently correctly, the connection to the imap server times out after 100 seconds or so.

I've installed Windows 7 (at my own risk!), Firefox and Avast-free, and am using the configuration settings Thunderbird advise for tiscali users. I copied the latest TBird profile from my old laptop into the Profile folder. The User Name and Ports are the same as those on my old laptop, on which TBird works fine.

I've temporarily disabled email scanning in Avast.

I'm now at a complete standstill, going round in circles, with resultant frustration!

Any comments, suggestions etc, bearing in mind my limited computer expertise, gratefully received.

my windows 10 had a problem had to have fixed they coopied the data and i have the icon oin the desktop but will probable need to reinstall firefox will i lose all addons and book marks if have to reinstall firefox or do i just sign in and all will be there. i hated to have to do this but apparently they just copied the data and all appps and programs have to be reinstalled

I use Thunderbird 91.10.0 (32 bit) for my Xfinity email account. (OS Windows 7 32 bit Home Premium). No, I cannot upgrade to a newer version of Windows. A few months ago someone hacked my Xfinity email account, and all my incoming emails began going to the junk folder. I resolved the hacking issue with Xfinity, but still have the problem with the emails going to the junk folder. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Thunderbird, unchecked Enable adaptive junk mail controls for this account, added a filter to send junk emails to my Inbox, I have Reset Training Data twice, attempted to retrain by marking as Not Junk for several weeks, and marking some as Junk. I have tried Do not automatically mark mail as junk if the sender is in Collected Addresses and Personal Address Book. I noticed some McAfee products that were installed on my computer without my permission around the same time, and removed them. I also started receiving numerous phishing emails asking me to confirm purchases I did not make including various McAfee products and other items. These all were deleted and no replies sent to them. Nothing has solved the problem so far, all my messages keep going to the junk folder. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
