Yesterday I had to change my Spectrum email - I have an old road runner email address and swapped over to spectrum.net server from the old server. In this process I had to update my password to access the server.

When I updated per the instructions from Spectrum I was able to do a normal download into my Thunderbird inbox. This triggered me having to input the new password. I did check the box to update the password and save it. After the one time download I cannot get Thunderbird to download emails. I can send emails with no problems but cannot download. No way can I get a download - it does not on initialization, at the set time nor with the manual request.

Spectrum is no help - their web mail works and it's my problem. I realize this is an old system, legacy and all that - anybody got a magic fix?

Any idea on how I messed this up?

My inbox folder costently says it has more messages than it displays (I can see the missing ones by searching). I have tried repairing it, looking at filters, etc., but nothing seems to work. See picture. Thank you!

Using Thunderbird with Spectrum email (an old roadrunner address). Changed the outgoing server to the following: Server Name: mobile.charter.net Port: 587 Username: Reefside@cfl.rr.com Authentication: Normal Password Connection Security: SSL/TLS Testing connection fails. I have tried different combinations and once in a while I get that the connection is successful, but email sending hangs and never completes.

I am running Thunderbird 140.11.1esr on Windows 11. I have many email accounts mainly with btinternet which I access with Thunderbird. Most of them work fine but when I tried add another email account with a very large inbox all of the folders download fine but the inbox itself doesn't show any messages but the number alongside the folder says 220479 (which I think is unread messages). I have tried this on 2 different laptops with the same result. I have tried to Repair the folder. The folder is selected for offline use and I have tried to press the Download now button.

Any ideas?

TB Authentication Failed with new outlook.com accounts Definetely not a problem of username, password, etc: everything double checked. No problems with old outlook.com accounts or connecting BlueMail for Windows to the new created accounts, but still I would like to use Thunderbird...

Had to change my ISP password which I did. I then removed all passwords from Thunderbird. I then downloaded the newest version (listed below) After the download I clicked on get messages - no response - did not ask for a password. My ISP pop address is properly listed. I went further and clicked on write - a box opened up asking for a password. Of course I entered my new ISP password and it showed up under saved passwords (smtp etc). I can write and send messages but not receive. I would appreciate a fix to be able to download messages - I miss my Thunderbird. Thank you - I must admit I'm not very teck savvy

cannot receive or send email says to login to server mail.twc.com failed Also says unable to authenticate to outgoing server SMPT check PW did and still not working. Spectrum say server is failing to communicate with their server.

I have recently installed Thunderbird. I have imported the .pst from outlook. I cannot see any email sent recently. Email display Window only shows mail messages from ten years ago. When I select get messages it states no new messages to download What do I need to do to fix this ?

I get the message "Login to server mail.sasktel.net with username powalinsky failed" even though none of the sign-in credentials have changed and I can access the same account in a browser and on my iphone. This problem began last Friday. It has occurred occasionally and briefly in the past, seemingly resolving itself. I have tried the troubleshooting suggestions that I found online, but to no avail.

Thunderbird has been acting weird. For a week or so, it has sometimes been downloading only one message at a time when I hit "Get Messages." I have to keep clicking "Get Messages" over and over to download my email. Now, however, it won't retrieve any messages at all from that account. It goes through the motions, and says that there are no messages to retrieve, but there are. I have tried restarting, both Thunderbird and my computer, several times. I have tried compacting the inbox. I briefly got it working again after restarting, but it's back to not working and restarting does nothing. The online information tells me to delete my account and then add it again, but it also seems to indicate that if I do that I'll lose the email that is currently stored under that account. That's not an option! I am able to send messages, and Thunderbird retrieves messages from my other email account just fine.

I'm trying to set up Thunderbird to send messages via Google Mail.

When I send a message, it reaches Google (it's in the Google "Sent" folder), and is successfully forwarded on to the recipient. However, the Thunderbird "Sending Message" progress box never closes and only disappears when I press cancel. It is, I assume, waiting for an acknowledgement from Google that never comes. But how do I fix this? The messages are being sent but I have no way of knowing without logging on to GMail to see if it's in the sent folder.
