I just re-installed the latest version of Thunderbird for email handling. (Ver 128.4.3) It is used by myself and my wife on our desk top. When she logs into her account and tries Thunderbird, it works just fine. When I'm logged into my account and open up Thunderbird Email, it asks for my password. Here's where things get cloudy. I enter current password but the program does not recognize it. I have gone out to Microsoft hotmail and changed it... and Thunderbird might work for a day, two days or only hours, than when I go to check my email again, it does not recognize my password. I check my email on my phone, and a Google tablet, so every-time I change the password on my desktop computer, I have to go out to these other devices and change them also, sometimes for just hours. For years Thunderbird worked fine on my computer, and on my "side" of the login, but in the last couple of months it has started this "password" problem. Could I have something on my computer in my settings that is causing this, and not causing this when my wife uses Thunderbird under her account. I love the program, but am now looking at other programs to handle my email unless I can get this fixed. I could use "Windows Explorer" if suggested to delete a file off my computer to "Fix" this. Just let me know what can be causing this please. Thanks in advance. John Drake j-w-drake@hotmail.com

Hello, there are several emails in my subaccounts that are no gone and I cannot find them anywhere. As there are a lot of confirming emails about holiday bookings I would be glad to get them back. All of my emails, that I put in presonal subaccounts before July 11th are no longer available. Thank you for answering. Yours Ulrike

Hi

Why does Thunderbird want all my personal information.......??

I'd be MORE THAN happy to make a donation to support you guys, but I am NOT happy about all the info I have to provide - and frankly I'm bot going to be bullied into giving info I don't want to. I donate to Wikipedia and they don't ask such intrusive questions - so why do you? You say that less than 2% of TB users donate - this PROBABLY the reason why they don't...!

And the fact that there is no direct link to ask somebody ask question about this subject, is really frustrating.

Thanks

I have Backed up my whole system with Windows 11 Backup (because I was having problems with Edge and Windows Explorer) and saved the backup to another HD in the PC. I am having great trouble trying to restore my Address books and Mail in Thunderbird. There are multiple Profiles in my Thunderbird so picking the correct one is just a guess. Is there any chance of getting my Address book (mainly) and my Mail back? Kelvin

I want to turn off ALL threads in Thunderbird.

Just the last two days TWO IMPORTANT messages (from two different people) on my computer did not display in my email feed, I only saw them by accident on my phone..

I have searched very, very many times to change the settings, but regardless of what I do, it doesn't help..

I have tried "View / Sort by / Unthreaded", it doesn't work.. I have tried to look for the "Organize Mail by Thread" in Settings, I cannot find it. I have spent SOOOO much time trying to find out about this, but not been successful... (It is NOT the first time this has happened!)

Can anyone help??

trying to open a link google sent me in regards to deceased fathers email content followed instructions can not get it to work> been to a computer store for help and they can not get it either>

ear Jasmine Tietz: We have completed our investigation and have sent you an email containing a link to a secure portal to electronically download the requested email content available in the Gmail account, INTOTHEFUTURES0957@GMAIL.COM. In order to open the email content (the file that ends in “.mbox”), use any program capable of reading .mbox format files. One such program is Mozilla Thunderbird. To use Thunderbird, please follow the instructions listed below: 1. Visit Mozilla.org and download the program Thunderbird 2. Follow the instructions and install Thunderbird on your computer. Close Thunderbird after you have completed installation. 3. Open the following path/folder on your computer: 4. On Windows XP/2000, the path is C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Application Data\ Thunderbird\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\ 5. On Windows 95/98/Me, the path is usually C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles\ xxxxxxxx.default\ 6. On Windows 7, the path is C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\ xxxxxxxx.default\ 7. On Mac OS X, the path is /Users/[User Name]/Library/Thunderbird/Profiles/xxxxxxxxx.default 8. Look for the “Mail” folder and then the folder named “Local Folders.” 9. Copy and paste the “.mbox” file into “Local Folders.” 10. Open Thunderbird. When you open Thunderbird you'll see the mbox file under “Local Folders.” Google cannot provide further technical support. I'm a newbe Thunderbird user making the transition from Outlook which I've used for years but recently discovered is too compromising especially when it comes to archiving. Have been using Mozilla for years on a Surface laptop (windows 11), Cyberpower desktop (windows 10), and Android Note 20. I've downloaded Thunderbird and it is working fine. Where can I find user training videos for Thundbird, especially archiving? Are there other ways besides on-line gifting in which I can contribute to the research that makes Mozilla and Thunderbird possible? Thank you.

I have several emails set up on my desktop Thunderbird app (Yahoo, Gmail, Fastmail). For some reason all emails that I receive in Yahoo are also showing up in the Fastmail account. I do not have this set up at Yahoo (I have the standard account that does not allow automatic forwarding) so I believe it is happening in Thunderbird. How do I turn this off? Thanks.
