People, is there now or will there ever be a fix for the "not responding" problem? I know that "conventional wisdom" says this isn't a Thunderbird problem, it's an anti-virus problem. But I'm having trouble wrapping my head around this. I've seen reports from people using three or four different anti-virus programs. Do they all have the same bug in them that blows up Thunderbird? Hard to believe. And why don't other email clients hang up when virus scanners are present? And since I'm using Norton and not MSE, telling me to use another anti-virus other than MSE and marking the problem "SOLVED" isn't any help.

I used to have the problem occasionally when I was running Thunderbird on Vista and Win7. Now that I'm on Win10, it literally happens every half hour or so. Thunderbird on Vista and Win7 would recover fairly quickly. Thunderbird on Win10 takes several minutes.

I like Thunderbird, I have Thunderbird set up the way I like, I'm used to Thunderbird. And in comparisons with other email clients, it appears that everyone else likes Thunderbird, too. But it's gotten to the point with me that Thunderbird is (almost) totally useless.

I've just received the 'reserve windows 10' notification. I was thinking that if I cannot use certain programmes with it, including Thunderbird, then there is not much point in upgrading.

How do I get tasks to appear in the today pane? They used to appear at the bottom of the today pane but no longer. Will a task appear when it comes due?

The freeze happens 8 of 10 times after sleep while Thunderbird was previously running fine. Also noticed a small, blank popup window that can not be dismissed. Must end via Task Manager, restarts OK.

How to set my backup program, Syncbac, to back up the Address Books and Messages to an external hard drive? I need the path (like c:/your name/etc. for Windows 10. Thank you!

I have just upgraded my PC operating system from Windows 8.1 to the new Windows 10. Since I have installed Windows 10, Thunderbird has started to give me problems when opening, with the following error "No reply from thunderbird" . Close the program or wait response (Nessuna risposta - Chiudere il programma o attendere la risposta) After two or three attemps Thunderbird seems to work. Any suggestions ? I was searching for an email from a contractor, and something happened and a stop sign appeared next to his email address. I may have accidentally hit something (which is more than probable). I am not sure what I hit, or how it happened, but the only way I can see his emails are to actually open my browser and see them, rather than using Thuderbird.

Hello, thanks for your attention. I am using Windows 10. Recently started using Mozilla browser and e-mail client. Have not been able to remove Microsoft Edge. I have removed Microsoft Mail and Microsoft Internet Explorer. My documents are in Google drive. Opening a document from my local hard disk Google Drive; by default does so in Microsoft Edge. I want it to open in Thunderbird instead. Opening a GoogleDrive document from the cloudserver through Thunderbird; is done as I want it.

I create tags while files are in the inbox and they are clearly visible there (colored highlighting of the whole e-mail entry), but after I transfer the individual e-mails to a folder the tags are no longer visible. At least I haven't found them. What do I need to do to remedy that? (I'm running this on Windows 10 on a 1-year-old HP desktop. My browser is Firefox, updated.)

When I use a VPN-connection my IMAP still works, but my POP and my SMTP doesn't. For POP I use SSL/TLS and port 995. (For IMAP I use port 993) MY SMTP is STARTTLS and the port is 587. When I disable my VPN and restart Thunderbird, everything is working again. Can somebody help me, please.

I'm having issues with the 3 window controls (minimize, maximize, close) in the top right corner, since the upgrade to windows 10. They no longer respond at all. Is anyone else experiencing this? is it a known issue?

AT&T when passing a text message to an email messages puts the body of text into a .txt attachment. When displayed through thunderbird you are required to click on this attachment. Is there a way automatically display this text as if it were not in an attachment?

I looked for the import of my google calendar into thunderbird following the guide you provide at this link: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/using-lightning-google-calendar. But since last November it is not possible to extract the XML-link from google calendar, they just provide iCal link. So I've tried to set up a new calendar with kind of link, configuring it as a ICS calendar but it does not work, because my appointments don't appear. How can I do? Thanks.

In trying to fix another problem (with our printer) the toolbar at the top of Thunderbird disappeared...we have been playing with it for quite awhile to no avail...can't figure out what we did wrong...ready to throw the computer through window :(

I get a pop up message from KAspersky saying Cannot grantee authenticity of the domain to which encrypted connection is established. Aplication: Microsoft widows operating system UR: pop.frisinger.net Reason: Invalid name of certificate. Ether the name is not on the allowed list or was explicitly excluded. My email address is a pop3 account with fatcow as the hosting company.

I have a folder called pop.frisigner.net here: C:\Users\SOP\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\a5mmku6w.default\Mail\pop.frisinger.net There are also 2 shortcuts to the folder elsewhere in my system. I do not get this error on my iphone.

I get the following error when trying to access one of my pop mail account:

Unable to write the email to the mailbox. Make sure the file system allows you write privileges, and you have enough disk space to copy the mailbox.

I am able to receive email from another account on the same server so it should not be a privileges issue. I un-clicked the read only property for the Thunderbird folder and all sub-folders. Disk space is also not an issue. Tried compacting and moving old email to local folder.

I'm using Windows 10 64 bit and still anytime I send an email with Thunderbird the program hangs while sending the message and storing a copy. I've had this issue for over two years. Why hasn't the Mozilla team done something to correct this issue? I've found Support issues dating back several years talking about the same issue.

I've upgraded to Windows 10, and managed to restore my two Gmail accounts, but all of my Local folders are gone. Are they gone permanently? They were where I stored the emails that I wanted to keep.
