In Thunderbird, how can I stop text in the previous emails in a string turning blue?

I have looked everywhere in Settings where colour is mentioned and everything is set to black text on a white background. Nothing is set to blue.

I do not want to see blue text anywhere.

Please advise.

Need help setting up my domain name with godaddy and Thunderbird email client. need to get DNS Records from godaddy also. Having more trouble with this than I should, I think. I have already setup an email account on Thunderbird with earthlink/mindspring and icloud. No problems at all, in fact, both were very simple. But no so much with the domain name and godaddy. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Using POP3 protocol I receive only the email metadata. It used to work before, it is happening for the last 2 days. See below. It works if the account is created as an IMAP, but this is not what I want. And another thing, it works properly with EM Client latest version that I installed.

A "send later" button came up one morning instead of the usual "send" button. When I clicked on the write button to see where the "send" button was, several choices came up but when I clicked on the "write" choice I lost the other choices and now can't get back to the original write button and still no "send" button appears anywhere on the menu. I can save messages to Draft but still can't actually send them. I can still receive emails, just can't send them! Help!

I have lost all stored folders with my email correspondence from the Local Folders for an unknown reason (I restarted my computer, and they disappeared). I can find some of these emails using the search option, but I cannot see the path of their storage location. I have checked my Profile/Mail/Local Folders, but they are not there. Are they stored on the server? How can I recover these folders?

Just installed TBird on new laptop, had an awful time. On the main mail page, across the top, there is a search bar (ctrl k). Should there be a 2nd one below it in the middle? Trying to configure it exactly like my older one, but can't find the right selections. Had remote help from BestBuy Geek, she only got half of it. The 2nd search bar is there, and tried to take a snap of it but can't get it. It has the threads symbol, the attached symbol, and one other on the left, and at the end of that line is the symbol to select them. She missed that completely. Can anyone tell me what that part is called, and where to make the selections from? (easier if I could show it to you, sorry) As always, Thank you! Stacy

I am installing Tbird on a Windows 10 instance that I am recovering from backup. There is a default profile that contains a folder for a user in an IMAP domain that no longer exists. Tbird won't start and just spins with a message about a missing IMAP user.

I copied the profile to another backup folder. And then uninstalled and re-installed TB. The "AppData > Roaming > Thunderbird > Profiles" folder(s) are still there but empty. When I start TB it says: "Your Thunderbird profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible." The old email is not important now. Should I delete more folders in AppData, or what should I do next?

Since update to version 145.0 I cannot send messages, when sending I get this message "Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: <*******@shaw.ca> sender rejected AUP#POL. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again". Nothing has changed with account settings. Same problem on another machine that updated to 145.0. Any ideas what is broken?

I do not know why but since yesterday I don't have the Orange Box in my Thunderbird home page to create a new message. I have to go into account and click on new message ( with a pen icon ). How do I get the orange box back. I have the orange area in the other pages like addresses, calendar, and the like, but not for new messages. How could I get it back because I installed a new copy of Thunderbird but it did not work. My Thunderbird crash whenever I tried to "save as" an email, save the attachment of an email, attach a file to an outgoing email.

Every time I did the mentioned, Thunderbird prompts the normal window of my laptop's folders, but it disappear in a second with the Thunderbird crash and quit.

This situation happened after I installed MS365 on my laptop.

I did try the below: 1. Reset attachment directory - mail.compose.attach.dir 2. Run in trouble shooting mode 3. Repair folder index 4. Clear cache

Anyone can help please?

I am losing my Mediacom ISP account (which I have had for 20 years) at the end of this month. I have used Mediacoms web mail server all this time and want to keep many emails and addresses that are on their server. I was told that Thunderbird would allow me to transfer/copy these messages to my computer and retain them there in Thunderbird after I no longer have access to Mediacoms server. I have installed Thunderbird 3 times and spent 2-3 days with help from this forum trying to gt it to work properly but have not succeeded. I have a windows 10 HP laptop and am not completely computer literate so I don't believe I will solve this by myself. I even loaded up an old windows 7 computer which I did with ver 15. but that didn't work either. THe one difference I did notice is that the Tbird auto installation on my Win 10 machine selects POP and on the Win 7 machine it selects IMAP. Mediacom is uses IMAP

Hello. Thuderbird has been acting strangely for a few days, lots of Not Responding messages and then it sorts itself out. But now, when I open an ordinary e-mail, it opens up in a Send window! I can no longer send emails. I can send them through mail web browser and was in touch with their technical support and the problem is not on their end. The message I get when trying to send an email is: "Sending of message failed. The message could not be sent because connecting to outgoing server(SMTP) Promail.ptd.net failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing STMP connections. Please verify that your outgoing server (STMP) settings are correct and try again". I checked my outgoing server settings and they are correct. I started Thunderbird in Troubleshoot mode and the problem still occurs. I started my Windows 10 in Safe Mode and the problem still occurs.

Since updating Thunderbird 64 bit to v147.0.2, then to v148.0 (1st March 2026, just now), requesting the display of 'Unified Folders' (in Folder Modes) does not populate the unified Inbox with messages from any of my eight registered email inbox sources. The individual inboxes with their contents can be displayed below, but not in the unified Inbox.

Since being introduced several versions ago, I have found this feature very useful when checking my various received emails, and it is frustrating to be without it.

Can anyone suggest what I may or may not be doing to get this feature to work any more? I have been all through Settings, but cannot find anything relevant to this problem.

Upon starting Thunderbird today, it appears the connection to my two Outlook exchange accounts (through an Owl extension) are no longer functional. I can receive messages but I cannot send them. I have attached images of the error it returns first (Error1) and then the screen that results upon refresh (Error2). I can reach and send mail from my accounts using Outlook365 web access, so it must be a Thunderbird configuration problem. Please help!

Hello, I just moved my email host from Microsoft to Bluehost and I am having trouble getting Thunderbird set up correctly. I can send and receive from Bluehost webmail, and I can receive in Thunderbird, but not send. I can reply successfully, but all sent mail from Thunderbird shows as sent but never arrives.

I am running Windows 10 and using Thunderbird 140.7.1esr

Any help would be great. Thank you!
